great to get back to watching some hurling on a good spring day. i was at the gaelic grounds in limerick. While laoise werent up for much they still gave limerick a good run out for the first half an hour. Great to see Pat Tobin playing so well scoring ( 1-7 ) and Shaughs is just a class act. They will give Tipp a run for their money on Sunday. Cant wait.

Yeah good start for Limerick, picking up where they left off, not that poor ole Laois are much of a challenge these days. The clash with Tipp will definitely be a good one and a good marker for both

You would feel sorry for James Young a fine player but didnt have the support around him. It was the first time i saw him play. He gave Lucey the run around for the first half hour but then they moved him out to half foward on 0 Dwyer where he wasnt as effective. Paudie is trying to establish himself while geary is injured so he was playing for his place. Even though Laois conceded 3-23 you couldnt fault the full back line. Pat Tobin, Shaughs and Seanie O Connor were on fire.

The big problem for Limerick yesterday was that we still dont have the cover for the half foward line. Ollie only came into the game in the second half. Stephen Lavin should stick to the football and Alan O Connor is just a good club hurler. Big step up to senior intercounty and he wasnt up to it. My worry would be if anything happened to the Morans and Mike Fitz we have no cover.

3-23 is a good score if you’re not happy with the half forwards! I’m sure most counties outside Kilkenny have a lack of cover in certain areas.

Laois are trying a youth policy under Damien Fox, I guess this is year 2 of it. If they’re not producing better more competitive displays by the end of the league and into the championship it’ll seem like a waste of time.

@ Larry. Is Zane Keenan no12 for Laois on sunday the same lad that scored that great goal for Yer Minors last year? Didnt it get goal of the year.

Id say you’re thinking of Zach Touhy the footballer.
Bit unusual to have two of the most talented young players in the county both starting with Z.
