Baby Phat Beauty Is Here and It’s a Revival of Early Aughts Glam

It’s time to unearth your favorite embellished logo tank from the early 2000s because Baby Phat Beauty is back! On Tuesday, September 1, Kimora Lee Simmons unveiled the all new line with her daughters, Ming and Aoki Lee, who are collaborating on the revived brand.

Kimora, Ming and Aoki took to Instagram to announce the launch by sharing stunning images from their beauty campaign, featuring diamond chokers, feathers, oversized hoops and even more ‘90s fashion throwbacks.

Baby Phat Beauty’s first drop is a three-piece kit that includes lip gloss, hydrating body lotion, illuminating body spray and a travel-friendly pink pouch. There are three different variations of the set, each of which are inspired by Kimora and her daughters’ unique personality.

“When I launched Baby Phat in 1999, I had to fight for a seat at the table in both the high-fashion and streetwear worlds,” said Kimora in a press statement. “I did that by staying true to myself and bringing up an entire generation who embraced diversity, body-positivity and body-confidence all while being unapologetically glam and sexy.”

“Buying back the brand has given me the opportunity to tell that story all over again to a new generation–a generation I raised,” she continued. “Launching into beauty feels like the most relevant way to tell that story in today’s landscape.”

“We are excited to dive into the beauty space with a unique multi-generational perspective,” said Ming. Aoki echoed her sister’s enthusiasm by saying, “Brands represent more than just products in today’s world, and it’s important for us to continue to be part of cultural and beauty conversations as we forge a new path for girls who look like us.”
