New Balance Treats Its 703 To a Stealthy Makeover

New Balance‘s archival 703 sneaker has returned in a stealthy “Black/Grey” colorway and another clean “Grey” look. The OG trail shoe is much like most of New Balance’s recent retro drops, delivering a busy multi-paneled upper alongside a technical, chunky sole unit that’s sure to see you through the winter months.

For the 703, New Balance has used a mixture of mesh and nubuck to craft the upper and has paired this with a scuff and weather-resistant rubberized toe guard, further supporting its outdoorsy credentials. In its “Black/Grey” rendition, the pair is given a host of red elements such as 703 branding on the lateral rear-quarter as well as a webbing heel tab, while its EVA foam midsole is served in black alongside a rugged outsole complete with red “All-Terrain” segments on the bed.

Red has been used for the “N” emblem on the rear — which is also made from the same tough rubber found on the toe — and red also highlights the branding and trim on the tongue.

In contrast, New Balance’s 703 has also dropped in a crisp “Grey” colorway complete with white, yellow, and teal elements. Sporting the same construction, this pair is complete with grey laces that are speckled with 3M details and is rounded off by a two-tone yellow-and-green embroidered “N” logo on the rear.
