The Freebie Lady reveals the secret Amazon pages you need to know about that hide the cheapest deals
WHILE we’re all familiar with Amazon, including their Prime and Black Friday deals, there are a number of branches which cater specifically for refurbished or overstocked goods – at a discount.
One savvy shopper has revealed how to bag incredible deals from Amazon pages you’ve probably never heard of, including Outlet, Warehouse and Renewed.
Becky, aka The Freebie Lady, recommends checking these sites first if you’re hunting down a bargain.
She posts her top tips on social media for navigating Amazon to get the best price available, saying: “Get insane deals at Amazon Renewed, Amazon Outlet and Amazon Warehouse.
“Amazon renewed is for refurbished items, Amazon Outlet is for overstocked items and Amazon Warehouse is for damaged box items.
“The prices are incredible.”
On the Warehouse site alone, which is described as ‘quality, pre-owned, used and open box products’, Amazon members can get an extra 20 per cent off certain goods, which ends at midnight today.
And the Outlet site is running a ‘Christmas savings’ sale, with a bespoke deals page just for overstocked items, as well as ‘super discounts’ tab.
If you were worried about buying something second-hand, anything bought from the Renewed page comes with a one year guarantee.
Amazon pages to check for deals
- Movers and Shakers
The site says: “Products on Amazon Renewed are inspected and tested by qualified suppliers to work and look like new, and are backed for 1 year by the Amazon Renewed Guarantee.
“Shop for smartphones, computers, laptops, tablets, home and kitchen appliances, game consoles, office products, and more.”
Another site Becky recommended looking at is the Movers and Shakers page, which showcases sellers which have been flying in the past 24 hours.
Becky said: “This super fun hack from Amazon that not a lot of people know about. It’s called Amazon Movers and Shakers.
“And what this is is the biggest gainers in sales over the past 24 hours, so you can go over to the sidebar and pick your category.
“These usually have some amazing deals in them, because is why they’ve been selling so well in the past 24 hours.”
Explaining how it works, Amazon said: “Movers and Shakers identifies the biggest gainers in sales rank compared to twenty-four hours previously.
- DINOBROS Hungry Dino Grabber Toys, was £15.39 now £11.82 – buy now
- Apple Magic Keyboard, was £99.50 now £59.99 – buy now
- Wireless Gaming Controller, was £64.99 now £48.90 – buy now
“For example, if a music item has a current sales rank of 10, but was ranked at 30 twenty-four hours ago, its Movers and Shakers increase would be 200%.”
Most of these specialist pages are available with Prime delivery, so they're the perfect place to pick up a bargain in time for Christmas.
Another page Becky recommended checking out is their Coupon site, which allows you to select money-off vouchers from certain products – with some giving shoppers 30 per cent off.
Explaining how it works, the website says you simply need to add a voucher to your basket, then when you buy a corresponding product it will automatically apply the discount.
And they're currently running a last-minute Christmas sale until December 23, so if you've left your shopping until the last minute have a browse.
If you're buying a gift for a tech-savvy pal, have a scroll through Amazon Launchpad, which is currently running some incredible 'holiday deals'.
The page showcases the 'brightest start-ups' selling 'innovative' gadgets and tech, while there's even a 'new arrivals' section so you can browse cutting-edge goods.
- Oral-B Genius 8000 Electric Toothbrush, was £279 now £79.99 – buy now
- Fitbit Versa 2 Health & Fitness Smartwatch, was £199 now £129 – buy now
- Sony Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, was £100 now £64.99 – buy now
As well as checking these specialist sites, Becky shared a few tips to reduce the cost of your Amazon Prime account.
Becky said: "If you’re a student you can get it for half of the price, and even more fun you can just add somebody else on to your Amazon Prime account."
In the UK, students can enjoy six months free of Amazon Prime, and then pay £3.99 a month after that.
Another way to reduce costs is to add someone to your account, with Becky explaining: “If you have a friend or a family member, or someone you really care about, you can just add them on to your Amazon Prime account.
“They won’t be able to see what you buy or any of that stuff, but they’ll still get the perks to Amazon Prime.
“Maybe you could even split the cost with them.”
You can invite people onto your account via Amazon's Household service, which allows you to add one adult account and up to four child accounts.
Plus those in Amazon Household can enjoy up to 20 per cent off essentials, like nappies and baby food, under Amazon Family.
If you have repeat orders – such as on baby formula – Amazon can also give you 15 per cent off these monthly essentials.
Meanwhile Primark bags will double up as wrapping paper when the store opens making your Christmas shopping a breeze.
