Vitamin C is definitely the golden goose egg of the skincare world. It can instantly brighten dull skin, diminish and fade dark marks and hyperpigmentation, and boost collagen (which is the secret behind plump, youthful skin).
To get more technical, vitamin C “is a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals,” board-certified dermatologist Patricia Wexler explained to Allure. “Because of its antioxidant properties, vitamin C aids in your skin’s natural regeneration process, which helps your body repair damaged skin cells.”
Although you’ve more than likely heard of antioxidants, allow us to stress that topical antioxidants help with UV damage as well as air pollution exposure. So yes, vitamin C is that girl.
However, with great power comes even greater responsibility. Vitamin C is notoriously known for being “unstable”; it loses its potency when exposed to air and water. While this poses a challenge (seriously, working a tricky ingredient into a serum or moisturizer is no easy feat), there are some vitamin C products currently out on the market that are totally worth your coins.
Here are a few vitamin C products to add to your ever-growing skincare collection.

Shop: Clinique H20 Daily Defense Set, $28.80 (Orig. $48)
Shop: Clinique Fresh Pressed Renewing Powder Cleanser, $31
