Ulrika Jonsson finally ended her 14-year sex drought — and then came coronavirus – The Sun

AFTER enduring a sex drought for years, Ulrika Jonsson finally met a man who made her jump into bed like a love-struck newlywed.

But just five months later, the TV regular, 52, has had to isolate at home with kids Bo, 19, Martha, 15 and Malcolm, 11, away from her new man.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

Today, In a hilarious account, Ulrika tells how she is coping with love, lust and lockdown.

THOUGH we are living in a time of pestilence, social-distancing, isolation and suffering, it would, as my Swedish Grandmother always used to say, be, “shameful to complain”.

I’m trying my hardest to be grateful for what I have and empathise with those who have not, but these are extraordinary times.

Granted, I’m not the most optimistic person — I’m more of a realist, nudging the boundaries of pessimism at times — but then, bear in mind, I do find myself locked up with two daughters who are invariably at each other’s throats, IF they ever leave their rooms. I must have been a truly terrible person in a previous life to be forced to isolate in this way.

Every day starts with the same argument about who is suffering the most. As teenagers, it’s clearly the absolute worst for them.

But I asked them to spare a thought for their old mum who, just five months ago, went on a first date and has since been nurturing a new and exciting relationship with a handsome man who I fancy the pants off, until coronavirus came along and brought lockdown with it.

I mean, you couldn’t make it up. I’d come out of a largely barren, 14-year relationship, then, 18 months later, my engine gets all fired up.

All the parts well-oiled (not a euphemism) and mind-blowing, passionate order is restored.

ROMANTIC, SEXY, THRILLING

Oh, how I smugly giggled to myself, that I would never let that physical and sexual aspect of my life become dormant again.

I would never accept anything less than palpable, sensual, human touch on a very regular level ever again.

I’d got my mojo back and I was going to make sure I never let it go. Ever.

Unless, of course, a pandemic sweeps the world and causes chaos and bans us from seeing people other than the ones we’re living with. Shoot me now.

Look, I know there are worse things to be forced to endure right now.

I mean, I have nothing much worse than two female teenagers at home, but I fully acknowledge this is a time of crisis and people are risking their lives — some are losing theirs — and others are suffering immensely.

But in a world where IF I’m allowed to have a little moan about something, could I please have a massive moan about the bizarre situation of starting a relationship, getting very excited and thrilled, then things coming to an abrupt and unexpected halt?

I can’t be the only person going through this, surely?

I’ve heard some couples who have just started dating took the massive leap of faith and decided to isolate together rather than have to endure time apart.

I applaud them. In the early stages of a relationship, I can’t imagine anything more romantic, sexy and thrilling. As long as there are no children involved, of course.

But being the wrong side of 30, me and my man have offspring and responsibilities, which puts a spanner in the works in terms of shacking up together. So we are apart.

I have been bloody loving having someone in my life.

I can’t even begin to tell you how dead (pardon the use of language) I’d been feeling inside for many years.

I felt like a vessel — some automaton that cooked, cleaned and walked the dogs.

It’s not surprising, I guess, when you consider that I was not just staggering through a sexless marriage but was also under attack from the menopause.

It was pretty awful both physically and mentally. I never in a million years thought I’d ever actually have sex again, let alone feel any “fanny flutters”, as Maura from Love Island would say.

STEADY MOMENTUM

So imagine my surprise when I finally force myself out on a date last November and find I’m not only laughing, but feeling excited again.

And let’s face it, it takes time to get to know someone — especially at my age — both personality-wise and sexually/physically.

So, these past five months have been well spent getting closer.

This relationship has been gathering steady momentum.

It’s been an exciting time, too, because I’ve suddenly wanted to transform myself from dowdy, hairy-legged, stay-at-home mum with no make-up to someone who actually started to care about what she looks like.

I’ve absolutely loved my twice-weekly routine of getting myself groomed and ready for his or my arrival.

You know, like you used to when you were 18 only now it takes at least another two hours.

It became like a little ceremony of joy and happiness.

LOVE IN TIME OF CORONA

My daughters were initially a bit perturbed by the changes, but then they became very encouraging.

They enjoyed seeing their mum happy — which is in stark contrast to how bloody miserable they are now in lockdown.

I have loved feeling appreciated and adored. The situation has brought so much joy and hope. The future feels exciting.

Love in a time of corona, however, feels anxiety-fuelled and uncertain.

It’s been over a week since we last saw each other and neither of us know when we might be reunited.

Thankfully, he’s an eternal optimist so keeps drumming into me that “we’ll get through this together” and I promptly correct him “apart”, because that’s the naked truth isn’t it? Few of us are actually together.

These times are forcing a new kind of courtship.

Dating apps have reported more traffic and longer chats between matches.

SHOW HIM MY PUPPIES

And at a time when standing two metres apart makes sex a real challenge, we are probably getting to know each other in different ways — in a deeper way, possibly?

My man and I are trying to keep the flame burning by messaging and WhatsApping during the day. He has taking to video calling.

Typical man, doesn’t realise that me dragging my way through the day like Waynetta Slob is not compatible with an unexpected video call.

When he does call, I show him my puppies. No, really, my bulldogs, they’re better looking by far.

But I wonder how we will sustain this relationship over the coming weeks (don’t say months, please!).

I’m trying to remain optimistic and romantic. One of my daughters suggested FaceTime dates.

The real point being that what we all really, really miss is touch.

It’s what makes and keeps us human. I’m crying out for physical contact.

Just as much as I want to hug my girlfriends and embrace my loved ones, I want to snog the face off my man, touch his strong arms.

To be quite frank, I’d be happy to poke him in the eye with my index finger. Anything.

I asked my eldest daughter whether it would be wrong of me to ask him to send me nude pics. It was worth it just to see her face.

At night, when my bed feels empty, I think of all the poor couples forced to spend 24/7 together but who can’t stand one another. And how unbearable it must be for them to share a bed.

Then I think how lucky I am to have someone to miss — someone to long for and look forward to seeing albeit when I’ve doubtlessly grown a beard, the hairs on my legs have turned into an equatorial rainforest and my roots have gone greyer than Judi Dench’s.

Maybe it will feel like starting dating all over again.

And maybe by the time we are all released from lockdown, I’ll be a virgin once again. Maybe.

Miley Cyrus Shaves Cody Simpson’s Head During Self-Isolation After Celebrating 6-Month Anniversary

Cody Simpson is the latest star to debut a bold new hairstyle while self-isolating amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic — but instead of doing it himself, the singer and poet let his girlfriend Miley Cyrus take the reins!

On Thursday, Simpson, 23, posted a time-lapse video of the “Slide Away” singer, 27, shaving his head on Instagram.

“Buzzin. Clean cuts for clean oceans I say! 🌊🏴‍☠‍” he captioned the black-and-white clip, set to Shwayze’s “Buzzin” featuring Cisco Adler.

Simpson also shared a shirtless selfie on his Instagram Story showing off his new look while giving a shoutout to 4ocean, an organization dedicated to ocean and coastline clean up that he works with often.

“Now that’s a buzz cut for a good cause! Looking fresh @codysimpson!!!” 4ocean — which has collected over eight million pounds of ocean plastic and harmful debris since 2017, according to its website — wrote under Simpson’s Instagram post.

During his time on-air, Simpson read Cyrus a poem he had written about her.

“Babe! I’m freaked! I’m the most beautiful?” she asked, smiling from ear to ear. Simpson replied: “You’re the most beautiful, babe.”

The cute moment comes one day after Cyrus and Simpson celebrated their six-month anniversary on April 1.

In honor of their big day, Simpson shared a black-and-white photo of his girlfriend wearing casual black ensemble with her hair in a ponytail and zit cream on her face.

“6 months with you is worth a lifetime with anyone else,” he captioned the Instagram post. “I love you.”

Beyonce & More Stars In Braids: See Pics Of The Coolest Hair Trend For At Home Inspiration

While millions are staying indoors amid the COVID-19 outbreak, our favorite celebs are giving them much needed inspiration for a new hairstyle to ease their minds and spirits. We’re looking back at some of our favorite braids!

Fashionable braids are a hair trend that never go out of style, and that’s because there are so many different ways to wear them. Whether it’s a simple braid, intricate cornrows, or braided updos, they always look classic and chic. While millions of Americans stay safely indoors during the coronavirus pandemic, nonessential workers — including hair salons — have shut their doors. This is ultimately leading many women, who would normally trust their hair with a professional, to get creative on their own terms. And braids are the best, easiest at home style to brighten your day and look during this uncertain time.

Rihanna, 32, debuted her braided hair in the best way possible when she arrived at her Fenty Pop-Up Launch Party on June 18 at The Webster in New York City. Rihanna looked drop-dead-gorgeous in a sexy little Fenty Fuchsia Drawstring Satin Mini Dress, accessorized with the most fabulous David Webb jewels. But it was her gorgeous, long tight braids that stole the show. Rihanna’s hair was dyed a bright red and her braids were super thin and tight, starting at her scalp and ending all the way at her waist.

Of course, the “Needed Me” singer wasn’t the only one to rock tight, intricate braids for a major event. Beyonce completely wowed fans and photographers when she did classic cornrows at the premiere of The Lion King in July 2019. The Grammy winner’s, 38, detailed hair style was done to perfection and highlighted her very best features while using her natural hair for the special occasion. Beyonce shined in her custom Alexander McQueen tuxedo dress, and her daughter, Blue Ivy, stood proudly by her mother’s side, sporting her own braids, too!

Another gorgeous way to rock a braid is in an updo, like Jessica Chastain. The Oscar nominated actress, 43, looked stunning at the X-Men: Dark Phoenix film premiere in LA on June 4 in an all-white ensemble, when she chose to throw her bright red hair into an updo, which looked simple in the front, but was intricately braided in the back. Her bangs were left out in front of her face and swept to the side, while her bun was in the back and off to the side. The entire back of her hair was covered in tiny, thin braids that criss-crossed around the bun and secured it together.

Another star who loves to rocks braids is Kylie Jenner, 22, who tried the trend at the second weekend of Coachella for Kanye West’s Sunday Service performance on Easter, April 21. In true Kylie style, she rocked the coolest braid ever by adding little charms to her extra long ponytail. Her hair was done by César DeLeön Ramirêz, who shared exactly how he got her look. To get her braid and jewels, Cesar used a 26-inch ponytail and natural sea shell glass charms. To start, Cesar slicked back her hair into a mid-crown ponytail using IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm, which he said, “is perfect for a glossy, healthy looking slick back.” Then, he attached a 22-inch Wildform ponytail and braided it using IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel for a soft hold. Once the slicked back braid was in place, he added a bunch of the charms from top to bottom. The charms included little white crosses, and flat circular seashells. There are so many other celebs who have been rocking braids and you can click through the gallery above to see them all!

Yes, There’s a Better Way to Take a Bath—Here’s How

Have you thought about baths recently? Chances are, unless you’re under the age of six or a professional athlete, the answer is no. Plenty of guys don’t think about taking baths for whatever reason—the time commitment, bathtub size, or just plain old generations of gendered marketing. But let’s set the record straight once and for all: it is not weird for guys to take baths.

There’s more to a bath than just relaxation, though let’s get real, that’s a big part of it. The benefits of a bath are so clear that there’s even a fancy word for it: balneotherapy. “Balneotherapy, taking a bath infused with minerals, salts or mud, has been practiced for centuries and is believed to [treat] some ailments such as arthritis and diseases such as eczema and psoriasis,” says dermatologist Michele Green, MD.

Baths are also often prescribed to ease pain and aid in recovery (which is why professional athletes are such big fans). “I broke my back when I was younger and the only way I could get the zero gravity effect that is the ultimate way to relieve back pain was to get in a bath,” says Spencer Arnold, co-founder of natural bath product company Bathing Culture. Seeing the therapeutic effect firsthand turned him into a lifelong bath enthusiast.

You don’t have to have a skin condition or chronic pain to enjoy the benefits of a bath either. “Bathing helps release toxins and settle your body down,” says clinical aromatherapist Hellen Yuan, founder of Hellen, which makes bath products. It has positive effects on your physical and mental wellbeing and aids in relaxation, stress reduction and anxiety management. That’s why baths have become cornerstones of a growing self-care movement and why you may want to make bathing part of your regular routine.

Realistically, “there’s no wrong way to take a bath,” says Tim Hollinger, co-founder of Bathing Culture. However, Here are 8 tips for taking the most relaxing bath.

Shower Before Taking Your Bath

There’s a saying that “if you want to get really clean, take a bath” and that’s true. Sitting in water for a period of time does get you cleaner than your average shower. But if the goal of your bath is to chill out, you might not want to sit there in the dirt that came off your body. “We recommend showering first, just a quick rinse,” says Hollinger. “It’s going to allow you to focus on relaxation during the soak instead of worrying about dirt.”

Warm Water Is Best for Your Bath

The temperature of bathwater is largely a personal decision and, in some cases like ice baths, depends on what you’re hoping to get out of it. But water that’s too hot or too cold “can put a strain on our cardiovascular system and send our body into shock,” says Dr. Green. “The temperature of your bath water should be close to the temperature around you to ensure your body won’t have to make adjustments when it gets in.” Scalding hot water is never a good idea, but especially if you have sensitive skin issues like rosacea. “Hot water is going to bring blood to your skin, so if you get red or flush easily, think twice about hopping into a hot tub,” says dermatologist John Zampella, MD. Go for a moderate temperature (warm, but not hot) and test it with your wrist before you get in. Your fingers and hands have a higher tolerance for heat than other areas of your body.

Add These Ingredients to Your Bath

There are plenty of things you can add to bath water to make it more therapeutic and relaxing.

No matter what you choose, keep it simple. Start off with one thing at a time before you start mixing and if you have skin sensitivity issues avoid products with added fragrance or dyes, says Dr. Zampella.

Create the Perfect Setting to Relax During Your Bath

To take a bath to the next level, spend a little time before you get in setting up your space (like while the tub is filling up). “Spend five minutes prepping,” says Hollinger. “Drag some house plants in there if you want. Bring in a reading lamp or other soft lights.” You can light candles, put on some soothing music, grab your favorite book, or even bring in some snacks. The most important thing is to leave your phone or other screens out. You’re trying to set up the space to optimize relaxation, not be tempted to answer work emails.

Make Sure to Hydrate During Your Relaxing Bath

And not just in the tub itself. “When you’re detoxifying, make sure you drink a big glass of water,’ says Yuan. Herbal tea or coconut water is good too and make sure you bring them into the bathroom before you get in so you can sip while you soak.

Don’t Rush Your Relaxing Bath Time

If you’re used to showers, a bath can feel slow, but to get the most of out of a bath means you need to commit. Allow yourself at least 20 minutes to really soak it all in. It takes at least that long for “the minerals and oils to absorb into your body,” says Yuan, and if you’re not going to reap the benefits of what you’re putting in the water, what’s the point?

Seriously, Relax.

It goes without saying that to take a relaxing bath you have to actually relax, but it can be easier said than done. Keeping your phone out of the bathroom is a start and so is putting on some calming music or a guided meditation. Think of your bath time as “meditation and yoga class rolled into one,” says Hollinger. “Realizing that a bath can actually give you time [instead of taking it up] can be hard to wrap your mind around, but when your mind is relaxed and your body feels better, you’re going to be so much more efficient.”

Make Sure to Moisturize Your Skin After Your Bath

Just like removing grease from dishes using hot, soapy water, your skin is going through the same thing when you’re taking a bath. “[A bath] removes the natural oils off your skin, so when you get out, you could actually feel more dry,” says Dr. Zampella. Make sure to replace those good oils by applying a gentle body lotion or moisturizer, which will also help lock in hydration and reduce possible irritation.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 22, was back to business as usual on Instagram, posting an incredibly sexy photo of herself modeling a new swimsuit. The photo features Kylie posing up against a pink wall, with her eyes closed and her hands in her hair. And all she’s wearing is a cream colored one-piece that leaves little to the imagination. The high-cut swimsuit is very sheer, but just solid enough to, you know, get around Instagram restrictions. See Kylie’s sexy swimsuit pic HERE.

It’s unclear when the photo was taken — recently, or before the stay-at-home orders were enacted — but posting it now is certainly welcomed. Her friends and fans were positively swooning over the new Instagram content. Big sister Kim Kardashian‘s former bestie Paris Hilton didn’t literally say, “that’s hot,” but she implied it by leaving heart and flame emojis in the comments. Shahs of Sunset star Lilly Ghalichi commented with tons of flames, as well. “OKAAAAY SLAAAAY 🔥🔥🔥,” on fan commented. “ANGEL ✨🏹🕊.”

Aside from posting glamorous photos, Kylie’s spent her time in self-isolation during the COVID-19 crisis bonding with her adorable two-year-old, Stormi Webster. Her daughter was the star of a March 30 Instagram Story that showed her racing around the house wearing pink leggings and butterfly wings. Kylie also snapped a photo of her little one during bath time, her sweet face surrounded by bubbles. If you need a smile, definitely check it out.

Since its inception, Honest has grown from offering a variety of clean baby goods like diapers and wipes. Now the company has become a full-fledged wellness brand with safe and effective products across categories such as bath, body and personal care, beauty and home.

And its fanbase has grown from moms and moms-to-be into pretty much anyone and everyone who appreciates Honest’s values, and their dedication to safety and transparency in everything they create. As if that’s not enough, the company is also socially conscious, implementing initiatives and community partnerships that give people access to safe and effective options, especially when they need it most. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are house hunting in exactly the same area of LA where Princess Diana wanted to live

PRINCE HARRY and Meghan Markle have moved to LA and are said to be house hunting in the same area Princess Diana had wanted to live.

Princess Diana had been planning a move to Malibu in 1997 with sons William and Harry and then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed.

Dodi had bought a palatial Tuscan mansion in the area just months before the couple died in the tragic Paris car crash, The Sun reported.

Princess Diana liked Malibu because it allowed her and the boys to escape the royal spotlight, which is the very same reason her son is said to be looking at properties in the area.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be keen to find a private, beachside home to raise their 10-month-old son Archie.

He and Meghan announced their infamous Megxit just after the holidays, which they had spent in Canada with baby Archie.

The decision by Harry and Meghan has left the royal family in a state of shock, with Queen Elizabeth said to have taken the news the hardest when she learned of her grandson's plans to step away from his royal duties.

It has also strained the relationship of Harry and his brother William, which had already been fraught for some time according to reports.

That pressure was part of the reason Diana sought to move over 5,000 miles away, and Harry has said that it is very much with his mother in mind that he made this decision for his family.

Diana’s butler Paul Burrell said in a 2007 interview with ABC News: “A lovely house … saw all the plans for it. It was going to be in Malibu.

“She said, 'This is our new life, just won't it be great, think of the lifestyle the boys — nobody's judgmental here in America, you don't have the class system, you don't have the establishment."'

Dodi had splashed out on the longtime home of Julie Andrews and husband Blake Peters, which sat on five acres of land.

It had five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a guest house, swimming pool, tennis court, private beach and 130 feet of ocean frontage.

The Oscar-winning actress sold the property in 1992 to an individual who also snapped up some of the surrounding plots of land for an additional £8.9 million.

That individual razed the home and built a Tuscan-style villa, while filling the property with large gardens.

Once completed, it was sold again, this time to Diana's soon-to-be boyfriend Dodi.

He actually purchased the home for himself and fiancee Kelly Fisher according to the former model, but then made it a love nest for Diana and himself after jilting his bride-to-be.

Kelly would later sue Dodi, claiming that he convinced her to leave behind her £404,000-a-year career to be with him, only to then leave her for Diana.

She dropped that suit just days after his death, but kept the £182,000 engagement ring she was gifted by the Harrods heir.

It was Caitlyn Jenner who first broke the news that Meghan and Harry were looking at properties in Malibu while appearing on Loose Women.

Caitlyn also threw her support behind Meghan during her appearance on the program.

She said: “It was a big shock to her, she’s probably had enough. Good for them, we’ll see how it goes."

"I heard they were looking for a house in Malibu. It must have been tough. Everyone deserves to be happy.”

The pair are said to particularly have their eye on the Pacific Palisades area, just a stone’s throw away from the homes of Hollywood heavyweights Robert Downey Jr, Mel Gibson, Dick Van Dyke and Caitlyn Jenner herself.

The Sun first reported the duke and duchess were eyeing a multimillion property just a few miles south from the estate he almost moved into during his childhood.

The sprawling, recently-completed £5.4million Petra Manor was also previously rented by Caitlyn’s daughter Kylie Jenner, and is being considered to be a “test run” home for the couple.

The swanky home comes with a pool, tennis court and ten bedrooms for the couple and baby Archie.

The house offers the couple a good deal of privacy as it is tucked away from the main strip in Malibu, where the two could get dinner at Nobu or pick up food at the local Whole Foods.

It was previously owned by Baywatch star David Charvet and his wife, Brooke Burke.

News of the potential move comes after Harry and Meghan made an appearance in California at Stanford last month  – just days after appearing in Miami at an event hosted by JP Morgan.

The couple flew down that morning on an Alaska Air flight, an eyewitness told The Sun, and were greeted at the school by the university's president, Marc Tessier-Lavigne.

Today reported how Meghan and Harry were apparently brainstorming with members of the Stanford community as they plan to launch a new charity following the couple's now infamous Megxit.

Stanford is also close to Apple headquarters, where Prince Harry had been developing a new series with Oprah Winfrey.

The docuseries, which focuses on mental health, was announced early last year – but there has been little news about the project since then.

We shared how Meghan Markle has landed a post-Megxit Disney job voicing elephant documentary after Prince Harry touted her for work.

It comes after Prince Harry was filmed revealing Meghan Markle's interest in being involved in a project to Disney chief Bob Iger at last July's London premiere of the Lion King, while the couple were still royals.
