Prince William Takes His Contact Lenses Out When He Makes Public Speeches

Prince William seems like he’s a seasoned professional when it comes to giving public speeches. However, the Duke of Cambridge just revealed that he’s not a fan of talking in front of people—and that he’s found a novel solution to taking the edge off.

The duke made the revelation in a new BBC documentary, Football, Prince William and Our Mental Health, airing today in the United Kingdom. According to the Daily Mail, he revealed, “My eyesight started to tail off a little bit as I got older, and I didn’t used to wear contacts when I was working, so when I gave speeches I couldn’t see anyone’s face. And it helps, because it’s just a blur of faces and because you can’t see anyone looking at you.”

As a result, William found he was less nervous giving speeches. “I couldn’t actually see the whole room. And actually that really helped with my anxiety,” he shared.

William also opened up about a number of other personal topics in the documentary, including losing his mother, Princess Diana, at such a young age and the fear he had with becoming a father.

Duncan Bannatyne, 71, and his The Real Marigold Hotel co-stars Barbara Dickson, Zandra Rhodes and John Altman come to the end of their journey around India tonight as the four-part series comes to a close. Tonight’s episode sees the celebrities head north to the foothills of the Himalayas as well as showing Duncan impressive yoga skills while the celebrities attend an advanced yoga class. But who is Duncan’s wife?

Duncan and wife Nigora Whitehorn, 40, got married in 2017.

The pair are said to have met in 2014 while Nigora was working at a dental surgery on London’s Harley Street that Duncan attended.

The pair were later reported to have become an item in 2015.

Duncan has since spoken out about the first time they met saying he couldn’t stop thinking about Nigora after meeting her.

Nigora opened up on their age difference earlier this year in an interview with OK! magazine and said: “Age doesn’t really matter to me. He has more energy than I have.

“I can’t keep up with him. And I think people have accepted the age difference and can see that we genuinely love each other.

“In the beginning, we got a few trolls, but now they leave us alone.”

In the same interview, the couple also spoke of how they would like to start a family together.

Duncan told the publication: “I don’t think it’s going to happen.

“We tried, but I don’t think we are going to have children.

Before his marriage to Nigora, Duncan has been married twice before.

Duncan and his second wife Joanne McCue got married in 2006.

The couple are reported to have later separated in 2011, and their divorce was finalised in 2013.

During their marriage, the couple had two children, Tom and Emily.

Duncan and his first wife had four daughters together, Abigail, Hollie, Jennifer and Eve.

Duncan and first wife Gail Brodie ended up divorcing in 1994.

Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Encouraged Their Parents To Take Guilty Plea In College Admissions Case

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are finally doing right by themselves, by the law, and bringing a sense of peace to their family.

After more than a year of fighting the charges brought against them in the now-infamous College Admissions Scandal, the couple has recently opted to plead guilty and accept the consequences of their actions. As reported, the Full House star has confessed to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, while her husband admitted to one count of honest services wire and mail fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

While this does spell out jail time for the embattled couple, sources close to their family described this outcome as a relief for daughters Olivia Jade and Bella Rose, who reportedly encouraged their parents to step up!

Speaking to People, a legal source divulged how the 20-year-old and 21-year-old former University of Southern California students have been responding to the plea decision:

“The girls have been very supportive of their parents throughout this whole ordeal.”

As we mentioned at the top, it’s been over a year since Lori and Mossimo were arrested for their crimes back in March 2019 and their daughters are finally ready to put this behind them:

“They were encouraging their parents to fight this, but that’s obviously all changed now. They realize that this was done to help them and there is no animosity there.”

It wasn’t easy getting to this point, though! Recent insider info suggested the sisters were struggling with their parents’ choice, and according to another source, the idea of their mom and dad being locked away in prison is what largely influenced their stance:

“The girls’ biggest fear has been that their parents would go to jail for years.”

But whatever difficult conversations took place behind closed doors must have really turned a page for everyone.

The pair’s deal states the actress will serve two months in prison, followed by 100 hours of community service and two years of supervised release, plus a $150,000 fine, and the fashion designer will spend five months in prison, 250 hours of community service, two years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. It’s highly likely based on how things played out with Felicity Huffman, who was released before the end of her two-week prison sentence, that Loughlin and Giannulli won’t serve their full terms either. Of course, that remains to be seen!

In the end, the guilty plea was a group decision that wound up as a relief for everyone involved:

“They all had a family discussion about their options before making a decision. Olivia and Bella also want it to be over and they agree the plea is the best option. Lori and Mossimo don’t feel like they gave up; they’re doing what’s best for their family.”

Still, we can’t imagine it’ll be easy for them on the day Lori and Mossimo are actually taken away. As reported, they are set to be sentenced formally on August 21. We’re sure they’ll be pushing to start their sentences at home still!

Snooki Still Feels Guilt Over Ruining Angelina Pivarnick’s Wedding, Dreads Tonight’s Jersey Shore

It’s almost here — the most highly-anticipated Jersey Shore of the season.

We’re talking, of course, about the episode that centers around the wedding of Angelina Pivarnick and Chris Larangeira.

(MTV’s marketing team tried to whip everyone into a frenzy over the alleged JWoww-Pauly D hookup, but fans seemed to know that would be a bust.)

As you’ve probably heard, the female members of the Shore cast decided to roast Angelina at her own wedding, and the response was about as negative as you would expect.

Angelina ran from the room crying, as her guests booed Snooki, JWoww, and Deena for their rude comments.

When word got out about the roast, the public reaction was even more brutal.

In fact, the backlash was so severe that Snooki retired from Jersey Shore amid allegations of bullying and other “mean girl” behavior.

Now, we’ll finally get to witness the disastrous reception for ourselves.

And not surprisingly, it seems the ladies of Shore are dreading tonight’s episode.

“Jenni, Nicole and Deena still feel horrible about what happened at the wedding,” a source close to the situation tells Hollywood Life.

“The girls might watch the episode, but not the bridesmaids’ speech scene,” the insider added.

“They are mortified over the whole thing still and it was a big catalyst as to why Snooki also walked away from the show. It sort of put things into perspective of the example she wants to set for her kids.”

The source went on to say that the ladies still have mixed feelings about Angelina, but that doesn’t mean they’re proud of their behavior at her wedding.

“They may not be the biggest fans of Angelina’s and have had their ups and downs, but they did learn a lot from the experience and wish they could do the whole thing over,” the insider said.

While it’s undeniably a bummer that Snooki felt the need to step away from Shore, the real victim in all of this is still Snooki.

“It’s been really hard for Angelina even though all of this time has passed since the wedding but she’s looking forward to viewers seeing what happened and her side,” said the source.

Yes, it seems Angelina is looking forward to a bit of validation when viewers finally witness the mess that was her wedding.

In a way it’s an impressive capper to her career.

Pivarnick started off as the most despised member of the cast, so reviled by her housemates that she never even completed a full season on the original iteration of the show.

Now, she’s a fan favorite, and it’s the other ladies who are feeling the wrath of Shore fans.

Angie might want to walk away from the show after this season, too.

After all, it’s unlikely that things will ever get any better for than this.

In fact, maybe everyone should walk away, and we should just put an end to this whole reunion experiment.

It was cool at first, but at this point, no one is really having fun on this Family Vacation.

Earlier this year in January, the couple announced the arrival of twins Kit Nathan Newlyn Backshall and Willow Bo Backshall.

The couple admitted to The Mirror that for the first month the pair named them ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Girl’.

Talking to the publication, Helen said: “When you start thinking about choosing baby names, particularly when you get two hours’ sleep at night, it becomes almost impossible.

“We thought that we had their names sorted.

“And then they came out, and the names didn’t fit. At all.

“Neither of them. And I don’t know why – I can’t explain why a baby that doesn’t yet have any character doesn’t suit the names.”

Springwatch 2020 will continue tonight on BBC Two at 8pm.

Kate Middleton Is Giving Her Kids At-Home Haircuts with the Help of Her Nanny Maria

Much like the rest of us, the royal family hasn’t had access to a professional haircut in months—and apparently Kate Middleton’s taken matters into her own hands. The Duchess is currently self-isolating at her country home in Norfolk with a “scaled back household staff,” and a source tells The Sun that she’s giving her kids haircuts. In fact, Kate has apparently been super good at cutting hair this whole time.

George, Charlotte, and Louis usually have their hair cut at Kensington Palace by Kate’s stylist Richard Ward, and since she has a pair of his scissors lying around, stepping up has been no bigs. Per the source, “Kate is able to trim all the children’s hair because she has this professional kit at home, including scissors, from Richard.”

Meanwhile, the source says “Kate would get Maria to do her hair during the lockdown. But it has only had a little trim so far. Kate does use a home colour on it from Richard. She would normally be given products from his salon between her appointments with him but for this lockdown ‘the package was rather larger than usual.’”

Cool, I’ll just be here cutting my own bangs with literally no supervision.

Tamar Braxton’s Family Was Stunned When She Shaved Her Hair in 2018

Since becoming the breakout star of Braxton Family Values, Tamar Braxton has become known for her perceived dramatic antics and love of flare. When it comes to her appearance, she enjoys extra flare and her wigs are no exception. Fans could always count on her to deliver a flawless, long, and typically blonde wig look – which is why many were shocked when she debuted a buzz cut in 2018. Braxton recently revealed her famous family was stunned when she emerged bald.

Tamar Braxton debuts buzz cut

Ahead of Braxton’s 41st birthday, the singer and reality star hinted to fans that she would be debuting a new look. At a minimum, fans expected a different hair color. Though known to rock various shades of blonde, Braxton was known to switch it up from time to time with a black or red look.

But she took her social media users for a surprise when she posted a now-deleted video of her sitting in a chair as a stylist shaved her hair. Many fans assumed that the choice was a declaration of new-found freedom and independence for the singer as just months prior, she’d filed divorce paperwork to end her nearly nine-year marriage to Vincent Herbert. Bobby Brown’s hit single “My Prerogative” played in the background as Braxton sat calmly while a stylist ran pink clippers ran through her hair.

A day later, Braxton posted a series of professionally shot photos of her smiling and posing with her new baldie. “I’m over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings!” she captioned one of the photos. “WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY.”

Tamar Braxton says her family thought she was going through a mental health crisis when she shaved her head

While Braxton was excited about her new baldie and went hairless with pride, her family were shocked and confused at what they considered to be a drastic change. In a new interview with Page Six, Braxton shared that she received dozens of questions from her loved ones on her new look as she did not give anyone a heads up.

“My family did get on me. It was a natural reaction with my sisters and girlfriends. They were like, ‘Girl, what you are you going through? Are you all right? Do I need to come see you? Do you need some help? When was the last time you ate?’ I got all of that,” she said.

She took the questions head-on and insists that the haircut was not a reactionary decision regarding anything going on in her personal life. Instead, she said it was her way of ridding herself of the beauty standards she’d abided by for so long, especially with being in the public eye.

“When someone cuts their hair, it is not always [because of] a negative mental issue,” she said. “Sometimes you’ve got to build yourself up to get ready to fight the world. I used to feel pressured to look a certain way in Hollywood, but I don’t anymore. I think you can rely on your talent and work ethic to speak for yourself; that’s what I do now.”

Braxton has since returned to wearing wigs and weaves for protective styling options as she grows her hair out but admitted that her buzz cut is her most beloved hairstyle. She’s considering cutting it again.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were likely to fly back to the UK this week for Princess Beatrice’s wedding

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently settling into their new life in Los Angeles with one-year-old Archie, but as they stepped back from royal duties in March, it was understood that the couple would be back in the UK regularly. Although it was never confirmed, it seems likely that Prince Harry and Meghan would have flown back to the UK this week for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi‘s wedding, which was scheduled to take place on 29 May.

WATCH: Harry, Meghan, William and Kate arrive at Eugenie’s wedding

The bride and groom-to-be have had to postpone their nuptials at the Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace because of the coronavirus pandemic. Buckingham Palace is yet to announce the new date for the forthcoming royal wedding.

Prince Harry has always been close to his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, since childhood. He and Meghan attended Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s big day at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in October 2018, days before heading off on their first major royal tour. Beatrice and Eugenie were also guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May that same year.

Archie is likely to have flown back to the UK with his parents, although having only just turned one earlier in May, he might have been too young to have had a starring role in the bridal party. His cousin, Prince Louis, is also still to make his debut as a pageboy, whereas Louis’ older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have had plenty of practice already at the weddings of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews, Harry and Meghan, Eugenie and Jack, as well as Kate’s close friend, Sophie Carter.

The Sussexes marked their second wedding anniversary on 19 May with a special date night meal, consisting of Mexican food and margaritas. Harry and Meghan also reportedly exchanged cotton-based gifts per tradition in their current home – a £15 million mansion, owned by actor Tyler Perry in the Beverly Ridge Estate of LA.

Donald Trump is so mad about Twitter calling him out for his disinformation campaign

Donald Trump has a sick mind. He spouts lies and white supremacist propaganda in speeches and online. He actively breaks laws constantly. There has been a conversation for years about whether Twitter should suspend his account, especially as Trump mentally deteriorates, as he lashes out, spreads harmful, violent conspiracies and perpetuates lies and misinformation. This week, Twitter took a mild step at putting Trump in check – they added one small line to his mail-in ballot lies with a link telling people to get the facts. Trump’s reaction has been an absolute hissy fit:

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 28, 2020

Think about that for a moment. Trump is arguing that tech companies are “censoring” his efforts to run lies, unchecked propaganda and violent conspiracies through Twitter. And he’s the president. That’s not all – Trump is going to sign an executive order about this:

The Trump administration is preparing an executive order intended to curtail the legal protections that shield social media companies from liability for what gets posted on their platforms, two senior administration officials said early Thursday. Such an order, which officials said was still being drafted and was subject to change, would make it easier for federal regulators to argue that companies like Facebook, Google, YouTube and Twitter are suppressing free speech when they move to suspend users or delete posts, among other examples.

The move is almost certain to face a court challenge and is the latest salvo by President Trump in his repeated threats to crack down on online platforms. Twitter this week attached fact-checking notices to two of the president’s tweets after he made false claims about voter fraud, and Mr. Trump and his supporters have long accused social media companies of silencing conservative voices. White House officials said the president would sign the order later Thursday, but they declined to comment on its content. A spokesman for Twitter declined to comment.

[From The NY Times]

I read the NYT piece a few times to try to understand what Trump *thinks* he’s arguing versus what it would look like in practice. Basically, it seems like if he does the EO and the courts held up the EO, social media sites would have an even bigger responsibility to censor and ban unhinged, violent lunatics like Trump and his minions because they would have increased liability. Maybe I’m wrong? Mark Zuckerberg thinks I’m wrong. Zuckerberg thinks Jack Dorsey at Twitter is wrong too:

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg criticized Twitter on Wednesday after the microblogging platform fact-checked a tweet of President Donald Trump’s that claimed mail-in voting increases voter fraud. Twitter tagged Trump’s tweets with the message reading, “Get the facts about mail-in ballots.” The message linked to a page contradicting Trump’s assertions. Studies have not shown evidence of widespread voter fraud via absentee ballots in the past. Twitter’s action marked the first time the platform has ever marked any of Trump’s tweets as misleading.

“We have a different policy, I think, than Twitter on this,” Zuckerberg told Dana Perino, host of the Fox News show The Daily Briefing, in an interview clip. The full interview is expected to air on Thursday. “I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online. In general, private companies probably shouldn’t be, especially these platform companies, shouldn’t be in the position of doing that,” Zuckerberg added.

Perino said that Zuckerberg told her that Facebook refuses to intervene in censoring public posts unless there’s a threat of imminent harm. She added that Facebook is “hands off” when it comes to political speech.

[From Newsweek]

I mean… Facebook and Twitter both have a Russian-disinformation and Nazi problem. While Jack Dorsey doesn’t do enough to shut it down, I feel like Dorsey is on a much better path, and Dorsey might actually give a sh-t about all the problematic crap that’s on his platform. Zuckerberg does not. Zuckerberg is fine with MAGAs, Russian operatives and Nazis using his platform to incite, engage, misinform, plot and harm.
