Alison Hammond, 45, and Dermot O’Leary, 47, are reportedly set to be replacing veteran hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, both 60, as This Morning’s Friday presenters. In an interview ahead of the alleged show shake-up, Alison claimed that only main presenters Holly Willoughby, 39, and Phillip Schofield, 58, are off-camera pals.

The ex-Big Brother contestant explained that Holly and Phillip have a “genuine” friendship.

She added the other hosts are often too busy and tend to do “their own thing”.

Despite being in attendance at Ruth and Eamonn’s wedding in 2010, the TV personality explained that the presenters often rush home to get to their families.

Alison explained: “We’re not on top of each other, do you know what I mean?

“Phillip and Holly, they go on holiday together. They genuinely love each other, in a brother and sister way.

“But literally when we finish everyone wants to go home to their families and see them.”

“We’ve got it just right I think. But no they all go and do their own thing,” Alison added to The Sun.

Alison shared a cryptic message, as she took to her Instagram account to share a heartfelt post with her followers.

She posted a cartoon picture of a girl and a dolphin rising to the surface of the ocean together, with the words: “Strong people don’t put others down. They lift them up.”

Fans flocked to comment on the message, as the presenter was inundated with support.

One person penned: “Couldn’t agree more,” while another person added: “So true.”

A third person wrote: “So very true, Alison.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that Alison and Dermot may be replacing Ruth and Eamonn on This Morning.

Ruth and Eamonn have hosted the ITV show for 14 years.

Dermot recently spoke out about the reports and said it was a “tricky” situation to be in.

It comes as he and Alison presented This Morning over the summer months this year.

“There’s nothing confirmed yet, but you know, we enjoyed doing the summer, so we’d like to do more,” he said in an interview with Ireland AM.

“But at the same time, you don’t want to tread on anyone’s toes or treat anyone badly, so you’re always sort of caught between a rock and a hard place on that sort of stuff.”

Alison and Dermot are said to have impressed bosses and viewers after they stepped in to host the show together.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
