The presenter and her co-host Jamie Theakston were joined on the programme by singing sensation Ed Sheeran.

Amanda and Jamie had been chatting to 10-year-old Rafa and his grandad Norman who were sharing their story about how music kept them connected during lockdown.

Norman had been given a cancer diagnosis during lockdown and the only way he could see his grandson was via Zoom.

He told Amanda and Jamie: “My grandchildren mean so much to me, they’re a major part of my life so to have communication with them was lovely.”

In response Rafa said his grandad was “very, very special”.

Amanda and Jamie then asked Rafa to play them a song on his guitar, the youngster choosing ‘Thinking out loud’ by his favourite artist Ed.

Midway through the song Ed himself crept into the room and surprised Rafa singing along with him, as everyone in the room looked visibly emotional.

Amanda captioned a post of herself and Ed saying: “Well. What a lovely, lovely morning and this man @teddysphotos is so classy kind and wonderful-everything you’d hope for.”
