Brian May took to social media this morning to reveal that he had rescued a fox cub. The Queen guitarist shared a video of the “first rescue baby” of 2021, who he has named Ben.
“Our first rescue baby of the year. Fox cub Ben,” Brian wrote alongside the footage.
“Always heart-breakers,” he informed his 2.7 million Instagram followers.
Brian then gave an update on the fox cub’s wellbeing and tagged the Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue team and the CEO of his Save Me Trust into the post.
“Well, he’s safe and warm for now, with a full tummy. @anneatsaveme @harperaspreywildliferescue – Bri.”
The adorable post sparked a frenzy online.
“Ooohhhh my god, my heart – what an absolute sweetheart!”(sic) one follower wrote beside the post.
“Awwww, thank you Brian for changing his life,” a second user added.
A third person gushed: “Hello there little one. Dr. May you are a hero.”
“What a sweetheart!! You guys do such amazing work at Save Me,” a fourth fan remarked.
He also shared the post on his Twitter account.
“I’m glad he safe this is always heartbreaking,” one user replied, before adding: “I would love one day that we don’t need to have to this.. but that’s a dream I don’t think will ever happen.
“I just want all animals to have a good quality of life..”(sic)
Another added: “AWW! That’s such a wonderful relief that he’s safe and truly in the best of hands.Thank you! Bless all your hearts!”

Brian lives in the Surrey countryside with his wife, former EastEnders actress Anita Dobson.
He did not reveal any details surrounding the fox’s rescue.
The 73-year-old musician founded the Save Me Trust in 2009, in order to work on the issues affecting today’s wildlife.
He regularly campaigns for the protection of animals.
The rockstar also runs an animal sanctuary which rehabilitates foxes, badgers and hedgehogs in his back garden.
He set up the Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue on his own land in Windlesham.
Brian also works with his Amazing Grace team to rehabilitate hedgehogs.
“To see these animals come in hurt, poisoned, dehydrated and see them taken care of and let back out into the wild, for me it is one of the greatest joys that has ever come into my life,” he said.
