Virgin Radio host Chris Evans, 54, found himself at the centre of an awkward dispute after he forgot about one of his guests on-air. The legendary broadcaster had a very busy show, jam-packed with all things 500 Words, his incredibly successful children’s competition that he set up when he was at BBC Radio 2.
It is absolutely shocking, you can’t forget a guest can you?!

Since BBC announced they would be ending the scheme this year, Chris and his team wanted it to go out with a bang and created the 500 Words: Black Lives Matter pop-up to tie in with the important movement and the protests and campaigns going on around the globe.
The four finalists were revealed and had their stories read on-air by the actors Amanda Abbington, Rob Brydon, Steven Graham and Sanjeev Bhaskar, so there was a fair few faces to get through on the phone lines.
After making their way through the impressive stories from the youngsters who had entered the very last competition, the team suddenly realised they had one more guest waiting in the wings.
Or, rather, on the phone.

“We forgot about another guru hanging on the end of the line!” Chris exclaimed, as his co-star known as Dapper Dave read out the guest’s intro.
“It’s the unforgettable David Croft!” Dave concluded after a lengthy intro, as Chris burst out laughing.
“Well, usually unforgettable, we’re so sorry about that Crofty!”
Sky Sports presenter David featured on the show ahead of this weekend’s Hungarian F1 Grand Prix, and Chris couldn’t apologise enough.
“Shocking,” David joked about the mix-up.
Chris agreed: “It is absolutely shocking, you can’t forget a guest can you?!”
But David didn’t seem too bothered by the blunder: “Err no, but your show occasionally over runs,” he replied as Chris giggled in embarrassment.
“That is a very kind way of putting it in faction couldn’t put it any kinder!” the former Top Gear presenter gushed.

This wasn’t the first time this week that Chris had to make a quick public apology.
After making a comment regarding Queen Elizabeth II, he soon felt guilty and begged for forgiveness.
Chris and his co-stars Vassos Alexander and Rachel Horne, were reading through the day’s headlines but one in particular took them all by surprise.
“The Queen selling her own home made gin after losing £30million during the coronavirus crisis,” the host read out before giggling.

“About the £30million hit on her bottom line, and by the way, forgive me ma’am, Mrs Queen for talking about your bottom line,” Chris corrected himself rather quickly.
