Claire Sweeney, 50, has said she would like to “travel more” after selling her villa of 16 years on the Spanish island of Majorca. The former Brookside actress is considering buying a caravan instead, so she’s able to enjoy more time on the British coast.
Claire shared: “I want to travel more because I love it.
“My mates laugh at me but I’d also love to buy a caravan somewhere on the coast around an hour’s drive from London.
“I had such happy memories as a kid. I had a villa in Majorca for 16 years but I sold it a few years ago.
“From a villa to a caravan – I love it!” she added to OK! magazine.
The actress turned 50 earlier this month, and admitted having a “wobble” upon reaching the milestone birthday.
Opening up about her difficult time, Claire divulged: “I have friends saying, ‘Embrace it,’ but I’m having a right old wobble.
“It suddenly seems old, but I know it’s not because I feel great.”
Despite her inner turmoil, Claire appeared to put her woes to one side, as she was spotted out enjoying an al fresco dinner in London’s Soho on Saturday.
The former soap star was in high spirits when she stepped out in a show-stopping sequin jumpsuit, and could barely contain her excitement when presented with a delicious-looking birthday cake.
The Scarborough star shares six-year-old son Jaxon with former fiancé Daniel Reilly.
She was initially nervous upon learning of her pregnancy after having a series of miscarriages.
But despite having her first child at the age of 43, Claire insisted that being an older mum doesn’t worry her.

“I’m so young at heart and in my ways, and it’s about peace of mind.
“It suited me to have done everything I wanted to do, travel, all the dream jobs I wanted to do, party and then have my baby, instead of the other way round,” she told MotherandBaby.co.uk.
Just nine months after welcoming Jaxon, Claire split from boyfriend Daniel.
Claire told the MailOnline in a statement: “Whilst we have decided not to remain together we are committed to bringing up our wonderful son and making sure we are great parents and supporting each other to achieve that.”
These days Claire remains single, as she has been busy during lockdown homeschooling Jaxon.
However, she is positive about finding love in the future, but is wary of using dating apps.
Opening up on whether she would consider finding romance online, Claire shared: “No, I’ve never had the nerve [laughs].
“Turning up and meeting a stranger? I’d be absolutely terrified! I’m old-school.”
