EMILY PRESCOTT: Is Kylie Minogue planning a Neighbours comeback after the star mentions ‘Charlene’ in a social media post while standing next to a giant aircraft wheel

Could this be Kylie Minogue’s hint that it’s chocks away for a return to her role as grease monkey Charlene Robinson in Australian soap Neighbours?

Posting a picture of herself next to a giant aircraft tyre, the 54-year-old pop star joked: ‘Has Charlene gone into aeronautical engineering?’

The singer wasn’t quite dressed for the part as she shunned Charlene’s statement dungarees and baggy sweatshirt, pictured below, opting for a black T-shirt and quirky half-leather-half-denim jeans.

The Can’t Get You Out Of My Head singer played Charlene for two years before quitting in 1988.

She explained her decision, saying: ‘I’d go nuts if I was doing Neighbours all the time.’

But does her apparent tribute to Charlene show that she really might be back?

We should be so lucky – Kylie reportedly got ‘the hump’ after she made time to reappear on the show’s finale last year with on-screen beau Jason Donovan, only to learn later that the show wasn’t ending after all.
