Eminem Gushed About His 24-Year-Old Daughter Hailie and Said She's Made Him Really Proud
It’s really rare for Eminem to talk about his daughters in interviews, and it’s understandable why: He wants to protect their privacy, like any parent would! So that’s why when Eminem actually talked about Hailie Jade Mathers—aka the inspiration behind his tracks, “Hailie’s Song” and “Mockingbird”—in an interview this past week, people were surprised.
On Mike Tyson’s YouTube show, Hotboxin, Eminem opened up about his daughter and gushed about how proud he is of Hailie for staying grounded and responsible…you know, despite having a famous rapper as a dad. “No babies, she has a boyfriend, but she’s doing good,” he said. “She’s made me proud for sure. She’s graduated from college.”
Just to give you a lil update on what Hailie’s been up to because it’s probably been a while: Since graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in psychology, Hailie’s become a mega Instagram influencer with 1.9 million followers. So yeah, she’s not doing too shabby!
In addition to being proud of Hailie, Eminem’s proud he’s been able to raise children successfully, which is really sweet.
“I have a niece that I have helped raise, too, that’s pretty much like a daughter to me, and she is 26, and I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m the most proud of is being able to raise kids,” he said. “It’s important to keep your kids grounded when they’re in a situation like I have, it’s very important. People also think too that money just buys happiness, [but] that absolutely is not the truth. You’ve got to be right inside otherwise none of this shit means nothing.”
Aaaaand just like that, I have been reduced to a pile of mush. Glad to see Eminem showing off this touching side of himself!
