Delivering Babies host Emma Willis, 44, has admitted she is “a bit of a control freak” after feeling “panicked” by tuning into the news during the coronavirus lockdown. The star shared her realisation while revealing that her other half Matt Willis, 37, has coped with the pandemic “so much better” than she has.

Opening up about their experience in lockdown as a couple, Emma told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine: “We had a point where I don’t think I watched the news for about three days and my focus adjusted.

“I realised I’d been all-consumed by it and it was nice to live in my bubble for a week and not feel panicked.

“We have a good balance now, news in the morning and evening and that’s better than having a constant stream of it.”

The former Big Brother presenter went on to say that Matt has “clearly known” about her tendency to be a “control freak”, but she has only just recognised it in herself in recent months.

She added: “One thing it’s made me realise – and I’m going to say it out loud – is that I’m a bit of a control freak.

“And I think Matt is quite happy that I’ve realised that about myself, because he’s clearly known it for a long time!

“I suppose because I’m a little bit that way inclined and this is something you can’t control, he has handled it so much better than me.”

Gushing over how the Busted singer has coped during lockdown, she added: “He’s been brilliant, actually.”

Matt and Emma tied the knot in 2008 and share three children together, Isabelle, 11, Ace, eight, and Trixie, four.

Elsewhere, Emma admitted she has been “in tears” frequently while in lockdown with her family.

Speaking on the Happy Festival podcast earlier this month, The Voice UK host said: “I cried last night looking at my mum on FaceTime. I cry all the time.

“I’m missing my mum but I once cried – I was drunk – at how cute a tent was. It was for my niece and she was very little.”

The presenter added: “She had a cute princess tent and I had been out drinking and I was overwhelmed by how cute she would look in that tent.”

Emma has celebrated special occasions with her family during lockdown, including her eldest daughter Isabelle’s 11th birthday.

Emma posted a rare photo of her eldest daughter, who she affectionately calls Wizz, unwrapping a huge present covered in multi-coloured paper in view of her 1.7 million followers.

Captioning the sweet moment, she penned: “11 years ago this glorious ray of sunshine entered our lives and we haven’t stopped smiling since… Happy birthday Wizz, we love you to infinity and beyond.”

Matt and Emma also marked their youngest daughter Trixie’s birthday last month.

Emma wrote on social media at the time: “My little sausage is 4 years old today…

“I have no idea where that time has gone, but what she’s added to our lives is unimaginable.

“Small in size but huge in strength, determination and kindness. Her great big smile makes my soul so happy… Happy birthday Trixie Grace Willis.”
