Pandora Christie is best known for her role hosting Heart FM’s mid-morning show. However, the DJ recently chatted exclusively to Express.co.uk about her journey to get there as well as what she loves so much about the gig.
Heart FM listeners will know Pandora for her abundance of positivity on the hit radio station’s mid-morning slot.
Known for her choice of feel-good tunes as well as her chatty nature, she’s become one of the best-loved DJs on the station.
Chatting exclusively with Express.co.uk, she admitted this is partly down to the station suiting her personality so well.
She joked: “If you could put Heart into a personality, I would be Heart. It is the ultimate feel-good station.”
Pandora has been hosting the slot since 2019 and over her career has chatted to A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Little Mix and Harry Styles.
However, the presenter admitted she really found out why she loved her job so much during the pandemic.
She explained: “Through this pandemic, I would say that I have realised how important radio is.
“We have been there for people when they need us the most, we’ve been keeping people company, we’ve been that friendly voice that people have been coming home to because they’re not allowed to have anyone else in their home.
“It helped me on days where I felt really sad – I go in and I just see the messages, the interaction on our station is just huge.
“And you’re connecting with people on such a deeper level especially through you know what we’ve all been going through and I think there’s a big togetherness at the moment.”
Pandora also opened up about why helping others and inspiring people is so important for her.
The star spoke about her journey of getting to this stage of her career, going from spates of homelessness to hosting her own show.

The presenter revealed how she was put into care at the age of nine after her mother’s death.
She explained: “I, unfortunately, watched my mum die in front of me when I was nine.
“We had been homeless a lot, we lived on the streets, we didn’t have any money to eat.
“We’d be eating from bins, picking up from outside cafes, sometimes they would get to know us and they would leave us food out before they closed.
“So I always count myself as being quite lucky in that respect because I know there are people that have been going through a lot worse.”
And this is one of the main reasons she is keen to work so hard to inspire people to pursue their dreams.
She continued: “But I just think you can use your past to create a better future.
“I just think that we can all do it if I can come from picking food out of a bin to where I am now, I just hope to inspire anyone else who is going through anything that they can do whatever they want, they can push themselves and we can help them.”
The DJ added: “I would just say, anything is possible if you work hard enough. Do not let your past determine your future.”
As well as her successful radio career, the star also revealed she is now working on a book, which she hopes will come out later this year.
Pandora explained: “It’s basically just about my life and what I’ve experienced, how I’ve experienced [things].”
