Hysterical moment taxi passengers spot Kardashian-Jenners at Met Gala

Unsuspecting taxi passengers captured the hilarious moment they landed the best seat in the house at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York.

Blogger Katelyn Sailor was heading home through the city’s Upper East Side when she and a pal were passing The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Filming what she saw next, Katelyn panned her camera across thousands of celebrity fans lining the streets outside the famous ceremony venue.

“Oh my god, how is this happening,” she’s heard asking as the yellow cab approached the main entrance where the A-list stars walk the red carpet.

“We’re just at the Met Gala,” Katelyn quipped as the pair realised what they had accidentally stumbled across last night.

The taxi then pulled up alongside the red carpet while they were stopped at traffic lights, giving them a clear view of the stars.

“Oh my god it’s Kim,” Katelyn shouted as she zoomed in on the Kardashian-Jenner’s arrival in seemingly perfect timing.

She then panned the camera over to show Kylie Jenner posing for snaps as flashes also fired in the direction of The Kardashians icons.

The video has since gained more than 6 million views in less than 24 hours, raking in over 1 million likes as celebrity spotters couldn’t believe their luck.

“Ya’ll must have accidentally bypassed a security checkpoint,” commented user @leahkendalsmith.

While @haiibeebsz joked: “You should’ve rolled down the window and screamed something naughty.”

TikToker @BerlynKomar added: “This road is just open? That seems like a security issue.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Met Gala organisers for comment.

Detailing the ordeal, Katelyn said: “We were on our way home, going through the Upper East Side.

“I was like omg, we’re so close to the Met Gala happening right now.”

“So, we were in a cab, and I was annoyed because he wasn’t trying to avoid the Met traffic,” she added.

Katelyn said she and her friend thought the taxi driver was “just trying to find a place to cross the park” when they pulled up at the ceremony.

She explained: “Spent the day on a playground in Queens with toddlers, ended with the Kardashians at the Met Gala.

“We did not ask to drive by, our driver was just trying to get to the West Side.

“We randomly drove by in a yellow taxi the moment the Kards are hitting the red carpet.” (sic)
