Former Towie star James 'Arg' Argent has unveiled his full five and a half stone weight loss after undergoing gastric band surgery in March.

The 33 year old had tipped the scales at 27 stone when he told fans he was going in for the op, and now he has lost five and a half stone in the months since.

In a snap shared on his Instagram stories, Arg showed off his svelte new body as he celebrated at Dan Osborne's birthday party.

The pair were seen posing on a sofa at the garden party, organised by Dan's wife, EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa.

Wearing a pair of white jeans and a blue striped summer shirt for the occasion, the former Towie star was looking leaner than ever.

“Chilling with the Bday boy @danosborneofficial,” James wrote over the top, as he wrapped his arm around the dad-of-three.

Dan, who celebrated his 30th birthday at the weekend, then reposted the moment to his own stories, as he added: “Heart ya bro!”

The party had a lego theme and fans spotted life-size lego heads adorning the tables behind the duo.

Jacqueline pulled out all the stops for her husband, with huge balloon displays decorating the couple’s spacious garden.

Arg went under the knife after doctors told him he “could die” if he didn’t do something about his health and ballooning weight.

The star explained a couple of months ago that he’d experienced real struggles with loneliness and addiction during lockdown.

And when he gave up drugs, Arg turned to food to fill the hole.

It was only during serious conversations about his future with doctors that the reality star realised he needed to make a lasting change.

Back in April, he told viewers on Loose Women: "I'm so pleased, sitting here today, two and a half weeks after the operation, gradually weight is coming off each and every day.

"I'm going on long walks, I'm feeling happier, I'm feeling healthier, I'm starting to feel like my old self again.

"I think I definitely made the right decision. This is really going to be a positive new chapter for me. I’m buzzing," the star added.
