Katie Price's recovery may take two years after breaking both feet

Katie Price may have to spend six months on her back and two years in recovery after breaking her feet, following a diagnosis more serious than she first realised.

The 42-year-old broke both her feet while jumping over a wall in a theme park in Turkey, leaving her in agony.

Katie told fans that she faced up to six months in a wheelchair, but now she has reportedly been told that her recovery may take up to two years.

A source told The Sun: ‘Doctors are saying she won’t be able to walk for six months, or put any weight on her feet.

‘She needs major surgery on her feet ASAP as it’s worse than anyone realised.

‘The recovery could take up to two years. She won’t even be walking around until well into 2021. She’s really upset and can’t believe it’s this bad.’

The mother-of-five was seen looking down in the dumps following her appointment at a specialist surgery clinic on Wednesday, after being carried into the building in her wheelchair.

Katie emerged wearing plastic boots on her feet, and was seen being taken out to a Japanese restaurant by her friends to cheer her up.

The star alluded to the severity of her injuries on her Instagram stories, writing: ‘Just finished my appointment with my consultant and surgeon about my feet. After further scans, the news is absolutely devastating…

‘I’m gutted!’

It is believed that Katie will go into further details on her scan results on her YouTube channel.

The former glamour model decided to hold off on surgery until she returned from Turkey, after taking a serious fall on a family day out at a theme park with boyfriend Carl Woods and her children Princess, 13, and Junior, 15.

She explained on her YouTube channel: ‘Silly me, at my age, should calm things down. Basically, silly little accident. I was running and jumped over a wall, as it was a little shortcut, and didn’t really judge the height.

‘I just sort of fell funny on my ankles and I fractured the hairline on my heels and stuff. The hospital here wanted to operate and wanted to put pins in and stuff. Because I’m away, I’d rather wait until I get home.’

The star appealed to fans to source a wheelchair or a mobility scooter for her to get around with back in England, explaining: ‘It looks like now my life has to change for the next few months because I can’t walk.

‘I’m trying to find a mobility scooter and a wheelchair that I can use because I can’t go on crutches because I can’t put any pressure on my feet.

‘[It’s] something that I wouldn’t of chose to do, but it’s happened and now I have to deal with it. I’m gonna have to move house, I can’t live like this on my own.’

It appears that Katie acquired a hot pink wheelchair, as she was seen being wheeled around in the new chair by her friends.

The star previously had a ‘pimped out’ pink mobility scooter for when she was banned from driving, but the scooter no longer works after she tried to take it off road.
