Lady GaGa Wants Cops Involved in George Floyd’s Death Met With Highest Form of Law and Order

The ‘Chromatica’ singer applauds the brave citizens taking to the streets to fight racial injustice and hopes the cops involved in George Floyd’s death receive heavy punishment.

AceShowbizLady GaGa has praised the “brave citizens” taking to the streets to demand justice for George Floyd after new charges were filed against the former Minnesota police officers responsible for his death.

The unarmed African-American was killed on May 25, 2020 after cop Derek Chauvin was filmed kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes as he took the 46 year old into custody, while three other officers looked on.

All four were fired from their jobs as the video footage went viral, sparking outrage around the world, while Chauvin was arrested and charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Attorney General Keith Ellison upgraded the murder count to second degree, and slapped the three other ex-policemen with charges of aiding and abetting second degree murder.

Following the news, Gaga took to her social media channels to credit “the voices of the people” for forcing authorities to take action as she expressed her hope for real justice to be served.

“I hope that all cops who have engaged in or are engaging in any racist activity are met with the highest form of law & order, although we know the law & order in this country is predicated upon racism and is itself corrupt,” the “Born This Way” singer shared in a lengthy note, as she described Floyd’s death as another example of the widespread “police brutality and prejudicial responses from prosecutors and local officials.”

Gaga went on to state, “I applaud the brave citizens of this nation that are speaking up, and I support the unsupported voices of the Black community. I wish for their voices to be heard loudly and clearly, and that they feel loved and amplified by allies.”

She also highlighted the importance of kindness as she promoted non-profit organisations close to her heart, which she encouraged fans to join her in donating to “in support of this continuous fight for racial and social justice.”

Among the causes named are the Loveland Foundation, Black Lives Matter, Campaign Zero, Color of Change, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

“I encourage you to learn about the important work they do and how you can get involved,” Gaga concluded. “Black Lives Matter.”
