ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly, 63, has questioned whether Gwyneth Paltrow’s trial over a 2016 ski accident is “an early April Fool”. Lorraine took to Twitter this morning after catching up on the Sliding Doors actress’ testimony in court, in which she insisted she cannot be “at fault” for injuries sustained by Terry Sanderson, who is suing her over the crash at the Deer Valley resort in the US.

Gwyneth took the stand for the first time on Friday, as Utah-based lawyer Kristin Vanorman grilled her on her ski outfit, and admitted she felt “so jealous” over the Hollywood star’s height at “just under 5 ft. 10”.

Lorraine shared a clip of highlights from Gwyneth’s testimony in view of her 740,000 followers, as the baffled Scottish TV host wondered: “Is it an early April Fool?

“Coz this is some super parody shenanigans.”

In the clip, lawyer Vanorman smiled and told Paltrow she “probably had a better ski outfit” than anyone else on the slope at the time.

Gwyneth then complimented Vanorman on her high heeled shoes, after the pair exchanged quips about their height.

Vanorman went on to brand Gwyneth “small, but mighty”, before backtracking and saying: “Actually, you’re not that small.”

Gwyneth was then quizzed on whether or not she is “a good tipper”.

Fans took to the comments section of Lorraine’s tweet to share their own confusion over the line of questioning during Gwyneth’s testimony.

Sarah Pinborough wrote: “Yesterday’s clip about how it cost her a very expensive ski holiday and she answered ‘well I lost half a day of ski-ing’ is the gold moment thus far for me.”

Another Twitter user added: “Oh my god! This is ridiculous xx.”

“It is bizarre isn’t it???” A third fan agreed.

David Jackson joked: “No, she’s just loosening Gwyneth up acting like her bestie to get the info she wants. She’s pulling some Columbo moves. Surely!?”

Terry Sanderson is seeking damages of $300,000 as the retired optometrist claims the collision with Gwyneth left him with broken ribs and a severe concussion.

In response, Gwyneth is counter-claiming for only $1 and for her legal fees to be covered.

She claimed on Friday in reference to Sanderson: “I really do feel very sorry for him.

“It seems like he’s had a very difficult life but I did not cause the accident so I cannot be at fault for what subsequently happened to him.”
