Love Island’sJoanna Chimonides has been “driving herself insane” after finding a painful lump in her breast over the bank holiday weekend.

The 23-year-old, who previously revealed how gaining a stone has made her feel more confident about her body, took to her Instagram stories to share the news with her fans after she was referred for an emergency scan on Tuesday.

Speaking openly, the Love Island star remained calm and composed before the stressful appointment, simply saying: “Ive had a bit of a stressful morning. On Saturday I found a lump on my boob.

“It hurts quite a bit and obviously it was bank holiday so I weren’t able to get a doctor's appointment so I’ve been driving myself insane over the last couple days worrying what it is and stuff.

“Hopefully it’s nothing, nothing, nothing serious, but of course I had to obviously make sure I get it checked as soon as possible because you just never ever know what it could be."

Joanna admitted to her 726,000 followers that had her breast not been so painful she might have missed the concerning lump.

She warned others: “Always check your boobs guys, well mine hurt to be fair, that’s probably why I actually noticed it otherwise I probably wouldn’t have noticed it.”

The reality TV star updated fans with a follow-up clip after her appointment with the doctor, who advised her to go for an emergency scan to make sure that the growth isn’t a sign of something worse.

She told her legion of fans: “I’ve just got back and the doctor has said that I need to have an emergency scan but I don’t know actually when that will be so I’m just going to wait for that.

“Hopefully I get seen ASAP Rocky and we can figure out what’s the crack but hopefully it’s nothing serious.

She reiterated once more: “Guys, girls get checked because you’ve just got to be super, super, super, super careful. Don’t wait out to see if it goes or doesn’t go, just get checked.”

This comes after fellow Love Island star Demi Jones updated fans that she’s “recovering slowly” after undergoing thyroid surgery to remove a golf ball-sized lump from her neck.

The brave starlet enjoyed her first outing since her operation after a week of recovery at home surrounded by her family.

Despite the terrible wind and rain, Demi made the most of her outing with her gal pal Lottie Searle and appeared to be glowing in her Instagram post shortly before the heavens opened.

It was just last month that Demi broke down in tears as she shared the harrowing news in a video to her fans, warning that the lump could have been cancerous.

Like her Love Island contestant, Demi urged followers not to put off getting lumps checked at the doctors.

She said: “Please don’t put off getting lumps checked, if appointments keep getting cancelled then you need to chase it up.

“I was supposed to have this appointment six months ago. At my scan they said ‘everything looks fine’ and went to send me on my way. I challenged it and asked if they could more, in which they said ‘oh well we can test the fluid if you want us to?’”

“Thank god I asked as it was the fluid that came back potentially cancerous. Always push!”
