Lucy Mecklenburgh says she and fiancé Ryan Thomas are ‘typical Brits’ as they BBQ in the sun during lockdown

Lucy Mecklenburgh has said she and Ryan Thomas are "typical Brits" as they barbecued in the garden while the sun was still out during the coronavirus lockdown.

The 28 year old, who recently expressed her frustration at how often she has to change her newborn son Roman's nappy, took to her Instagram Stories to show off her fiancés cooking skills.

Sitting by a table, the new mum filmed as Ryan showed her a plate of skewered raw chicken complete with red and yellow bell peppers and thick pieces of onions.

Proud of the preparation that went into the meal, 35 year old Ryan could be heard telling his soon-to-be-wife: "Look what I'm serving you for dinner darling. Looks okay?"

Ecstatic behind the camera, Lucy replied: "Mmm yeah! We just need a BBQ now!"

Ryan, who recently said he's "full of fear" raising his son amid the UK lockdown caused by the coronavirus, then said: "Well I have a little… BBQ station over there," before Lucy panned the camera over to a set of instant disposable barbecue trays.

The former TOWIE star continued by asking her 1.6 million followers: "Anyone else doing this? Typical Brits, a little bit of sunshine and we get really excited!"

She wrote over it: "Typical Brits first bit of [sun emoji] and we r like BBQ TIME!!! Woohoo!! [two laughing emojis] But we don't have a bbq [facepalm emoji]." [sic]

The reality star followed this up with an after-photo of the finished product, which showed a plate of salad, a burger with cheese sprinkled on top and a skewer of meat and vegetables.

In the background lay little Roman sleeping in a baby bouncer as he was faced away from the glare of the sun.

It comes as Lucy recently hit out at trolls over negative remarks about breastfeeding after sharing a snap of herself with her son.

The TV personality took to her Instagram Story to share a video of herself feeding her son while celebrating his one month birthday.

Alongside the snap, Lucy wrote: “Birthday breakfast. Can’t believe my little man is 1 month old!!!!”

After receiving praise for the sweet photo, Lucy hit out at anyone who chooses to criticise breastfeeding, branding them “vile”.
