Megan Thee Stallion Only Had 1 Professor Who Knew About Her 'Alter Ego'

Ever wonder what celebrities would be doing now if their careers never took off? Did Jay-Z have a backup plan? Megan Thee Stallion did. In fact, she was in the middle of making her non-musical dream a reality when a video of her freestyling went viral. Megan Thee Stallion’s rap career blew up right after that. That left Megan in a weird place for a few years.

Megan Thee Stallion was still in college when her career took off

Megan Thee Stallion was already internet famous in 2017 when she released her new EP. But she was still studying at Texas Southern University. Being both a student and an up-and-coming musician was a difficult balance to strike, and it only got harder as time went on.

According to Megan, she was fine in the beginning. She scheduled her classes so she would only be on campus two days a week. The rest of the time she could focus on homework and her rap career. But as she became more popular, it got harder and harder to balance school and work.

Although a lot of her friends and classmates knew about her music, only one of her professors did. In a 2018 interview with Billboard, Megan Thee Stallion said “Only one of my professors right now knows that I’m like a whole rapper. She followed me on Instagram and when I came to class she was like ‘Megan, so you got a little alter ego!’ I was like, ‘Oh my god. Don’t follow me!’”

Megan Thee Stallion was never going to be anything but a boss. With a little luck and a lot of hard work, she’s become a famous rapper. But if she weren’t taking over the hip hop scene, she would be taking over the healthcare scene. Megan went to school for healthcare administration, and she had big plans to help people.

Megan knew she wanted to be in healthcare, but nursing wasn’t for her. She considered going to medical school, but as her rap career took off, that seemed impossible. So, she chose to study healthcare administration.

As Stallion put it, “But I want to run the hospital. I don’t want to do the dirty work, but I definitely want to put it there for people to come and help others.” So it seems like even if “Hot Girl Meg” hadn’t been launched into stardom, she would still be making a big mark on the world. In fact, she still may make her mark in healthcare at some point.

Megan Thee Stallion still plans to open an assisted living facility

Megan Thee Stallion hasn’t ruled out a career in healthcare. She planned to open an assisted living facility in her hometown, and as of 2018, that was still on her to-do list. “Yes, that’s still the plan. And you know how it’s so hard to get a job after college? So I thought it would be super easy for my classmates if I just opened up something that they could go get a job at.”

Many stars go on to launch their own businesses. Megan Thee Stallion may be the first rapper to open an assisted living facility, but she wouldn’t be the first to invest the money she makes from music into another project. It’s also interesting that she wants to hire her classmates for her facility. That wouldn’t be the first time Stallion has used her influence to lift up those around her.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion recently dropped the video for “WAP,” and it features a lot of other up-and-coming female rappers. Stallion thinks that women in hip hop aren’t given their due, but by including other female rappers in her video, she gave them a much-deserved boost.
