Royal Expert Claims Prince Harry Could Use The Birth Of His Second Child To Get Out Of Doing This
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child together. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they are set to welcome a baby girl in the summer of 2021, during their sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired back on March 7, according to Variety. The couple is said to be preparing for the birth of the newborn, and is already a tad worried about having two children at home as opposed to just one, a source told Us Weekly.
Harry returned to the United States on April 20 after a 10-day trip across the pond for his grandfather’s funeral, which Meghan could not attend because her doctor didn’t think it was safe for her to travel, according to People. Harry’s trip had some tough moments, according to Entertainment Tonight, as there is a great deal of tension between Harry and the royal family following the aforementioned Oprah interview. Royal expert Russell Myers told talkRADIO that Harry received a rather “frosty reception” from some of his family members upon his return to the UK, according to the Daily Mail. This could mean that Harry won’t want to head back to visit his family any time soon, and the fact that he and Meghan will have a newborn at home could help his case, according to Myers. Read on to find out what he said.
The birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby could keep him from returning to the UK this summer
In a few months, Prince Harry is expected to attend the unveiling of a statue of his late mother, according to The Sun. A ceremony for the unveiling is set to take place on July 1, on what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday. However, royal expert Russell Myers has suggested that it’s entirely possible that Harry could use the birth of his second child to forgo the trip altogether — and to avoid his family. Myers told talkRADIO that Harry has a “convenient excuse” not to “face the family” by blaming his inability to travel on the fact that he has a newborn at home, according to the Daily Mail.
Even still, Myers said that he does think that Harry will return to the UK for this occasion. “I’m told he is still committed to coming. Both camps are. Certainly Kate and William will welcome him if he wants to come back,” he explained, according to the Daily Mail. However, the timing will certainly be interesting. Meghan Markle’s exact due date is unknown, but if she gives birth very close to that July 1 date, Harry may not be able to attend regardless of what’s going on with his family. Of course, as Myers suggested, Harry could take a private jet across the pond if that’s the case, and perhaps fly in and out on the same day.
