Sir Paul McCartney is set to release a new book titled The Lyrics, which will see him recount his life through the 154 songs he’s written.
The Beatles icon, 78, will reflect on his life, from his boyhood to the present day, based on the compositions in the particular period of time.
In previously unseen pictures released on Wednesday, Sir Paul was seen in a more candid light as he enjoyed a day by the beach as a young man wearing a bright red-and-white bathing suit.
In another sweet family image, he doted on his then-baby daughter Mary at home.

Arranged in alphabetical order, the book is described as being a ‘kaleidoscope’ rather than ‘chronological’ depiction of his life and work.
The book will share ‘definitive texts’ for the lyrics as well as see Sir Paul explain the circumstances around each song, and the people and places that inspired him.

In an excerpt from the book, he adds: ‘More often than I can count, I’ve been asked if I would write an autobiography, but the time has never been right.
‘The one thing I’ve always managed to do, whether at home or on the road, is to write new songs.
‘I know that some people, when they get to a certain age, like to go to a diary to recall day-to-day events from the past, but I have no such notebooks.
‘What I do have are my songs, hundreds of them, which I’ve learned serve much the same purpose. And these songs span my entire life.’
The book, which is being released in two volumes, will be published on November 2, 2021.
