Stacey Dooley calls last orders in EastEnders’ Queen Vic pub amid surprising move to soap

Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley, 33, sent her social media followers into a spin last night when she posted a picture of herself on the set of EastEnders.

The documentary maker took to Instagram to share a short video of herself in the show’s much-loved Queen Vic pub.

The BBC star could be seen ringing the bell for last orders behind the bar in a stylish black satin ensemble.

The pub is the heart of the long-running BBC soap opera and has been the setting for many of the show’s biggest moments over the years.

Stacey captioned the post by referencing a famous catchphrase by former landlady Peggy Mitchell, played by Barbara Windsor.

“Get outttttta my pub……” she wrote, before adding: “@bbceastenders let’s go! x.”

Stacey’s fans and followers were sent into a spin after seeing the post, with many excited at the prospect of seeing the TV star on the show.

One user wrote: “Oh my goodness, are you going to be on Eastenders? X.”

“No wayyyy,” another said.

A third fan remarked: “Queen Dooley in the Queen Vic… Something I never knew I needed.”

“You’d be perfect in a role in EastEnders!!!” a fourth fan added.

EastEnders bosses have announced the show will take a short break from TV screens on June 16.

The soap, which was forced to postpone filming back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, will return when it is safe to resume filming.

While the soap is off air, fans will be given the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the fictional neighbourhood with a special spin-off series.

Stacey will front Secrets From The Square, a programme offering viewers a chance to revisit some of EastEnders most iconic scenes.
