Tom Hanks Sent Letter & Typewriter to Australian Boy Named Corona
Tom Hanks did a very good deed for one Australian boy who has been bullied over his name, Corona, during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.
Corona De Vries, an eight-year-old boy from Queensland, wrote to Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson after they were quarantined in the country for Corona.
Corona wrote to Tom and Rita, “I heard on the news you and your wife had caught the coronavirus. Are you ok?”
“Your letter made my wife and I feel so wonderful! You know, you are the only person I’ve ever known to have the name Corona — like the ring around the sun, a crown,” Tom wrote back to Corona (via Reuters). “I thought this typewriter would suit you. Ask a grown up how it works. And use it to write me back.”
He then ended the note with, “P.S. You got a friend in ME!” referencing his famous movie Toy Story. So sweet!
