    RO TO GO

Man United defender Marcos Rojo could be on the move back to Argentina, with Boca Juniors interested in acquiring his services.

But his time at Estudiantes is proving to be a sticking point.

Estudiantes manager Agustín Alayes spoke to Cielosports at the weekend, and was asked about seeing Rojo playing for league rivals Boca.

Alayes said: "Marcos’s bond with Estuiantes is unbreakable. Any decision he makes we’ll respect.

"Obviously I’d love for us to have a new chapter because all the effort we made not long ago was totally influenced by the pandemic, we couldn’t enjoy him and he couldn’t enjoy his club again.

"If he chooses Boca tomorrow, nothing for changes me at all and he doesn’t have to change anything either. He’s an Estudiantes fan. You don’t have to be so extreme regarding the decisions that the players make.

“Marcos is a boy I adore, I saw the effort he made from a personal and economic point of view to come but now we have to wish him the best, if he’s not Estudiantes, that he does well wherever he is.”

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set to join Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.

According to the Manchester Evening Standard, the 23-year-old is set to join Leverkusen for just £1.5million after rejecting United's contract offer earlier this season.

Leverkusen currently sit third in the Bundesliga and a permanent move could be good for Fosu-Mensah, who has made just 30 appearances in six years.

The report also states that Fosu-Mensah was being tracked by former club Ajax and German side Hertha Berlin last season, but United triggered a one-year extension.

Fosu-Mensah's preferred destination is believed to be Ajax but the move is unlikely to happen.

Alex Telles detailed how he suffered a fractured skull like Wolves hero Raul Jimenez in the early days of his career.

The Manchester United left-back bears the scar from a horror clash suffered while playing for Gremio against Internacional in Brazil in 2013.

Telles underwent surgery as doctors used metal plates and screws to heal his injuries.

Speaking to Inside United, Telles said: “It was from football, when I was playing for Gremio. It was the Gre-Nal derby, Fred was playing for Inter at the time, we were rivals.

“It was a high ball and I clashed heads with an Internacional player. I ended up with a depressed facial fracture here at the front [points]. It was a very similar injury to the one Wolverhampton’s Jimenez suffered. It was a very similar situation.

“I ended up fracturing this part at the front and my nose. It was a very difficult and complicated moment for me, but I also learnt a lot whilst I was out. I was out for about two-and-a-half to three months.

"I had to have an operation on my head to reconstruct the skull bone. The scar is now part of my identity, a reminder of my story for the rest of my life.”

New Manchester United signing Amad Diallo has been told he needs to bulk-up and improve his heading by his former coach.

The Red Devils completed the signing of the attacker for £37million with the 18-year-old touted for a big future.

Diallo, who played five games for Atalanta, is heading to England hoping to make an impact in the second half of the season.

But his old mentor at childhood club Boca Barco, Denis Cerlini, has warned the ace is not ready for the Premier League just yet.

He told BBC Sport: “Physically, Amad wasn't the strongest at Boca Barco, and his heading abilities aren't good.

“He must add a few kilograms of weight in order to survive in the Premier League.

“We didn't discover Amad, but rather he just came to us. It was a great stroke of luck.

“From the very first moment, it was evident the kid was special. He was very bold and quick, possessed great technique and a strong shot, and executed everything at great speed."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Edinson Cavani is raring to go and ready to kick-start his season after completing his ban.

Manchester United’s Uruguayan forward was given a three match ban over a social media post that was deemed to use racist language.

However he is back in contention for the trip to Burnley on Tuesday night when the Red Devils can go top of the table.

Cavani has started only five matches since joining the Red Devils in October but Solskjaer says he will be vital going forward.

He said: “Edinson has trained well when he’s been banned, he had a couple of days off but he’s ready to go.

“He’s a diferent option, I’m glad to have him back. He’s contributed really well.

“He will be really important and his season starts on Tuesday night.”

Manchester United can go top of the Premier League for the first time since 2017 when they face Burnley on Tuesday.

The Red Devils know avoiding defeat in their game in hand at Turf Moor will see them leapfrog Liverpool into top spot.

And should they manage that against Sean Dyche’s men, it would end a 40-MONTH wait to sit at the top of English football.

A 2-2 draw away at Stoke on September 9, 2017 was enough to jump back above Manchester City on goal difference.

But who was playing for United that day?

Bayer Leverkusen are on the brink of signing Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The 23-year-old has only made one Premier League appearance this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, there are 'positive feelings' to conclude the deal soon although some issues still need to be ironed out.

Fosu-Mensah joined United in 2016 from Ajax and endured loan spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham.

Jadon Sancho believes he is back to his best after starting 2021 with a bang.

The Manchester United transfer target had failed to net in this season’s Bundesliga before back-to-back goalscoring games since the turn of the year.

Sancho revealed a single-minded focus on his game over the Christmas break got him back on track.

He told bundesliga.com: “Obviously this season has been very difficult for me personally.

“So I knew when I went away, I just focused on my game and came back raring to go.

“I’m working hard every day in training and on the pitch so I’m just happy to get my goals and assists.”

Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard is reportedly wanted by Inter Milan on loan.

The Mirror reports Inter boss Antonio Conte is a big fan of England star Lingard and wants to bring him to Serie A.

The 28-year-old has played just three times in the cup this season and has only made FOUR out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 17 matchday squads in the Premier League.

Lingard started in United's 1-0 win over Watford in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

But the midfielder could be heading for the exit door with Solskjaer reportedly ready to let him leave after he fell well down the Norwegian's pecking order.

Lingard would join the former Red Devils contingent at the San Siro with Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez plying their trade under ex-Chelsea boss Conte.

And the report states Conte has been nudged in Lingard's direction by positive reports from both Lukaku and Young.

However, a move is thought to rely on the Italian manager's ability to offload Christian Eriksen.

Manchester United are reportedly set to go toe-to-toe with Paris Saint-Germain in pursuit of Romain Faivre.

The Brest midfielder, 22, has been one of Ligue 1's surprise standouts in 2020-21 after a move from Monaco.

Les Pirates paid around £450,000 for Faivre last summer and a sale would reap a pretty profit for the Brittany club.

According to Le10Sport, a whole host of clubs are taking an interest in the player.

United and PSG are named as two contenders, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently adding a new wide-man to his squad in Amad Diallo.

Mauricio Pochettino got a good look at Faivre on Saturday night as the youngster played 90 minutes in his first win as Les Parisiens boss.

Cristiano Ronaldo defied gravity as he outjumped Sassuolo keeper Andrea Consigli.

The 35-year-old was the star of the show as Juventus won the Serie A showdown 3-1.

But one moment in particular from Sunday’s match left Ronaldo’s fans lost for words.

He once again showed off his superhuman leap after Paulo Dybala delivered a ball into the box.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner looked like he had no chance of winning the aerial dual.

But he somehow managed to jump higher than the outstretched arm of Consigli.

Ronaldo won the header – but failed to find the back of the net with his effort.

Manchester United academy product Dion McGhee snubbed Rangers to sign for Braga on a free transfer.

The English midfielder, 20, was released by the Old Trafford club after 14 years last summer.

He went on trial to Newcastle earlier this season but, despite appearing three times in the Premier League 2 for the Under-23s, was not offered a contract.

McGhee was tracked by Steven Gerrard’s Gers, Derby and Antwerp.

But now he hopes to get his career back on track in Portugal.

The playmaker is looking forward to developing under former Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal.

He signed a contract until the end of the season but there is a club option for a deal until 2024.
