Aldi shopper cooks 15 different meals for just £14 using supermarket’s chicken
A mum has shared her money-saving tricks after turning a few chickens into 15 delicious meals.
The Aldi customer spent just £14.70 on the lot which was transformed into kilos of mince, wings and soup stocks.
She shared her tips on Facebook in the Aldi Mums group where fans thought it was absolute genius.
The woman, who is from Australia, wrote: "Five chickens today, averaged $5.25 (£2.97).
"[I] cut them up into 10 Marylands, 2kg wings, 2kg minced chicken and five carcasses for stock when the weather cools."
And the brilliant thing about this woman's handy trick is that it can all be stored in the freezer too.
She added: "All labelled and in the freezer now. So fresh and I firmly believe it's the best way to buy chickens. From Aldi of course!"
The woman went on to reveal how she uses the chicken breasts to create mince.
She explained: "Took the skin off first. I've got an old fashioned mincer and got my husband to turn the handle. Took about 5 minutes."
By doing this with her chicken it means the woman could save a few hundreds a year on her food shopping bill.
Since it was shared on Facebook, one shopper suggested: "If you bought two kilos of chicken mince it would cost you $25 (£14 alone).
"This is a much smarter way of doing it."
Another social media user added: "This is a great way to budget."
While a third Aldi fan commented: "I do this as well when I have time, awesome job."
