Amy Childs looks unreal – I was a zombie after giving birth, says Frankie Essex
Twin mum Frankie Essex has joked she "looked like a zombie" in the days and weeks that followed her twins Logan and Luella's birth, as she praised close pal Amy Childs.
Amy welcomed twins Billy and Amelia on 6 April and, just over two weeks on from their birth, the mum-of-four has already resumed filming her new show.
Sharing a video to Instagram, she shared with fans: "Hi everyone! So, I'll tell you what, I'm starting to feel like me again. It's nice to put a bit of makeup on today. I'm filming a twin life video this afternoon.
"But yeah, it's nice to feel like me again. Still in this baby bubble, the twins are honestly, they are just incredible. They are amazing. I just can't stop looking at them. But yeah, we're just starting to get into a bit of routine now, starting to find me again."
In light of her admission, Frankie reflected on how she felt after the twins' birth as she quipped she was far from camera-ready.
She wrote in her latest OK! column: "Amy recently shared on Instagram that she was filming again and the babies are only about a week old! I can’t believe she’s filming – she looks unreal. I was honestly like a zombie after the twins. Both Luke and I were. There was no way in a million years I’d have been able to get back to filming.
"Billy was out for a run yesterday too! Luke didn’t get back to the gym for almost three months after the twins were born. The twins must be a dream."
Frankie continued: "I know Amy was already a mum before the twins’ arrival but still… She’s amazing.
"She was filming the whole time she was pregnant too. She’s honestly smashed it."
Frankie has been documenting her motherhood journey with OK!, and it wasn't until two months after her babies were born that she started to "feel a bit more human again".
Discussing Logan and Luella dropping their 2am feed, she penned at the time: "They woke up at like 5:30am this morning as they’re sleeping through now – it’s lovely. That in the middle of the night feed is hard. You just lose your sleep pattern, so it’s nice to have that bit of extra sleep. You know what I mean? When you’re up feeding them, you’re up for a good 45 minutes then it’s hard for us to fall back asleep. I can’t just fall back asleep.
"Since getting some more sleep I’m definitely starting to feel a bit more human again. Getting my hair washed and blow-dried on the same day is a good thing, when before I was just letting it dry on its own [because I was so tired]. My hair’s so frizzy and curly and I just didn’t feel like me. It’s nice to get that little bit more sleep so you feel more alive."
Frankie's kids will soon celebrate their first birthday, with the doting mum having long had plans for their special day.
