Barcelona agree new five-year contract with teen sensation Pedri… including 1 BILLION euro transfer release clause
BARCELONA have agreed a new five-year contract with Pedri which includes a ONE BILLION euro release clause.
The 18-year-old sensation will sign the deal on Friday which runs until 2026 and includes one of the highest release clauses of all time.
Barcelona confirmed the news on Thursday afternoon.
The Catalans wrote: "Barcelona and the player, Pedro González 'Pedri', have agreed a contract extension up to 30 June 2026.
"The release clause is set at 1 billon euro.
"The new contract ties down the player from the Canary Islands for the rest of this season and a further four years. The official signing will take place on Friday 15 October."
Pedri will sign the contract in a private ceremony in the president's office at 1:30pm before a photo session and a press conference at 2pm.
His current deal expires at the end of this season.

LaLiga ambassador Gary Lineker tweeted: "That's one helluva release clause."
Barca hope Pedri will be the at the heart of the club's revival after the Lionel Messi era.
He has played just four times this season, but made 37 league appearances last term in a phenomenal breakthrough campaign.
Liverpool were said to be keen but have reportedly been put off by this latest development.
Barca have suffered on and off-pitch crises recently but the promise of a new generation of stars creates genuine cause for hope.
The Spain international impressed at Euro 2020 but has struggled with injury so far this season.
Pedri arrived from Las Palmas after an initial £4.3million deal was struck in 2019, although clauses have since taken that up to £13m.

It is said that the Canary Islanders may eventually bank £30m if all add-ons are met, with a 15 per cent sell-on fee also part of the sale.
Koeman sung Pedri's praises recently and said: "He is a young player who listens and works hard and a great future awaits him.
"Mentally, he is very tough because if he was not, then he would not have survived this very demanding last 12 months."
