BTS Just Demolished This YouTube Record by Achieving 101.1 Million Views With 'Dynamite'
Shocking absolutely no one, BTS broke a lot of records with their new single “Dynamite.” One of the most impressive records BTS achieved with the song was setting the record for the most-viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours. To do so, BTS achieved 101.1 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours of releasing the “Dynamite” music video, obliterating the previous record.
‘Dynamite’ is a fun disco-pop song
When BTS first announced the single this past July, they told fans they wanted to bring positivity amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
“We have prepared a new single for ARMY, set for August 21. We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible. Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans,” the K-pop group said during a VLIVE on July 27.
The song features English lyrics, which BTS called a “new challenge” during the VLIVE broadcast.
“We also needed a breakthrough during these unforeseen times, so we worked on this new song. This is a new challenge for us as well. When we first heard and recorded the song, we were energized and our spirits were lifted up. We can’t wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together,” the members said.
