Shoppers have been left scratching their heads after Moschino released bakery-inspired handbags at £758 a piece.
The Italian fashion house, known for its quirky designs, has previously released accessories modelled on a pizza box, a slice of cake and a lighter, and its new edible-insipired range includes a baguette clutch and a croissant shoulder bag.
But social media users were sent into a frenzy after the bizarre accessories appeared on the brand’s website, as one joked they would ‘grab a fresh one from Tesco for half the price’.
Designer brand Moschino posted their latest designer range to their website which were modelled on edible goods including baguettes and croissants.
But fashionistas were left scratching their heads at the £758 a piece price tag for the bizarre accessories
Moschino’s description of the baguette bag read: ‘Maxi clutch in high-frequency printed baguette-shaped faux leather and gold plated plate Moschino Made In Heaven.’
Its sister product – the croissant clutch – was posted with a similar description and was only available in ‘beige’.
Fashionistas quickly honed in on the bizarre designs but focused their attentions on the baguette.
One Twitter user joked that it was the ‘biggest dupe going’ after posting a side-by-side snap of the new bag with a screenshot from Sainsbury’s showing its ‘crusty white baguette’ priced at 85p
