Now that we've finally got the warm weather we've been asking for, many Brits will be flocking across the UK in order to make the most of the stay-cations available.

To help out the nation's drivers, Halfords has launched the perfect incentive to make sure our cars are ready for the summer ahead.

From now until June 23 the retailer is offering its Air Con Diagnostic Check completely free, it usually costs £34.99 so it's well worth going to get things checked out before heading off on your next big journey.

The 30 minute check includes a temperature and refrigerant check, a thorough inspection of the system's key components including the compressor, condenser, drive belts and hoses and a leak test – how good is that?

The checks are available on all cars, including hybrid and electric motors, drivers can book their free test here on the Halfords website and arrange a booking at their local garage.

You'll only need your vehicle registration and postcode to find your nearest branch – then simply pick an available date and time, before confirming at the checkout.

Once the check is complete, drivers will also have the option of a Full Air Con Service starting from £50. If during the inspection a fault, leak or component damage is discovered, Halfords specialists will discuss the recommended repairs and provide a no obligation quote before any work is carried out.

Drivers who require an Air Con Recharge will also be able to take advantage of Halford’s Mobile Experts service, meaning the technician will come straight to their door.

Good news for anyone already planning their summer stay-cations, Halfords has created a dedicated page specifically to Staycation Bestsellers. In this section you'll find a number of camping and outdoor essentials.

Popular options include Halfords 24 Litre 12V Electric Coolbox to keep the drinks cool (£65) and Halfords Double Stove with Grill to cook up a storm when you're ready.

And if you're off on a long journey, why not consider a car kit to keep with you in the event of an emergency?

For £35 you can also buy the AA Breakdown & Emergency Kit, which contains all the important stuff you need in the event of a breakdown like a hazard light, a weatherproof torch, a foot pump and more.
