‘So easy! I used a dollar store vegetable peeler,’ Mary wrote, explaining how she sliced the chips so thin.
Mary soaked the chips in water for ten minutes before cooking to remove the starch from the potatoes.
‘Drain and soak in water with a pinch of salt and teaspoon of vinegar for another ten minutes,’ she said.
The potato chips were then boiled on the stovetop for three minutes and seasoned with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
To make the chips crispy, Mary placed them in the air fryer to cook on a high heat.
After sharing images of the chips on December 20, the post quickly attracted more than 2,000 ‘likes’ from other foodies – a reaction Mary didn’t expect.
