I hate my job and backstabbing colleagues but worry I won’t be able to find a new one – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: I FEEL stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I hate my job but now worry it will be taken away and I will not be able to find a new one at 52.

I once had a good role at work and got on with everyone but, since our company had a major reorganisation, it has been the unhappiest time of my working life.

My colleagues are all younger, unpleasant, backstabbing and disloyal.

My husband keeps saying I should just leave.

My company is now talking about making people redundant. I think I will be among them because of my age.

I need to see this as an opportunity to move on but still feel afraid of the future.

DEIDRE SAYS: Being unhappy, day in, day out, has drained you.

Your attitude toward risk-taking is keeping you stuck, but now is the time to be brave and create the future you really want, which may be completely different from your current job role.

Remind yourself of the positives from your current job you want to hang on to.
