But until Jake's next TV home is announced, he will be leaving Walford and will no doubt being enjoying some downtime at the stunning Hertfordshire house he shares with his wife of 19 years, Alison Wood.
The acclaimed actor often gives glimpses inside his cosy and quirky abode to his 96.1 k followers on Instagram.
Let's take a look inside…
Earlier this summer, Jake gave fans a peek at his home by way of a picture of himself flashing his rippling abs post workout.
While in lockdown Jake was focusing on his fitness, exercising in this spacious room which appears to double up as a music room.
Posting a sweaty shirtless snap with his arms held aloft after a workout, Jake wrote: "Happy Tuesday everyone. I think it’s safe to say that exercise is getting me through this. Stay positive and I look forward to seeing you all on the other side."
Looking around the room Jake posed in for the thirst trap, we can see there is a drum kit in the background perhaps for the actor or his children Amber, 15, and Buster, 12.

Jake and Alison's teenage daughter Amber appears to be very interested in music, giving a look inside her own bedroom which she has dubbed "my lair".
In a snap shared to her own Instagram page she poses on her bed surrounded by vinyl records as well as vintage Vogue magazine covers adorning the wall and a framed picture of her deep sea diving.
Elsewhere Alison, who renewed her vows to Jake at Glastonbury in 2017, has added personal touches to the decor by hanging up framed quotes on one wall of their house.
One reads "The little big things", and another says "Accept and adapt", with the black and white frames hanging next to a plant.
She also shared a look inside their quirky garden which appears to have artificial lawn to keep it bright green.
In one snap Alison lounges outside resting her feet on a bright orange wicker table, with the family dog lazing close by.
There are also two floral patterned sun loungers next to a small yellow coffee table and and a blue wheel hanging on the brick wall.

In another picture shared by Jake of their back garden from the winter, a dusting of snow covers the ground, and a black bench which has the words "Love Is Here" painted on the seat.
There's also a cockerel ornament in the corner next to a glass wall, as well as a shed and a huge fire feature that the couple have used to roast marshmallows in the evening.
Inside Jake shared a picture of his card balancing skills as well as a brief look at the interior of the kitchen decorated in a chic black colour scheme and a wooden top.
More quirky touches come in the form of a bright pink flamingo ornament as well as huge wine and beer fridge with a clear glass door, placed right next to the breakfast counter.
Alison made use of the white counter top when she made up a sign which read 'Barbara's Revolutionaries', which Jake shared alongside the caption: "Team Wood."
When it comes to Christmas time the Wood family have an artificial green tree tipped with white fake snow on the branches.
They put it up in a corner of their living room, which is painted a deep blue, and has the word 'Love' hung up on the wall in neon lighting.
There's also an exposed brick wall that has a wooden painted quote hanging on it which reads: "Our family is just one tent away from being a full-blown circus."
