Inside Rita Simons’ luxurious home which includes sweet homage to EastEnders and incredible gym

Rita Simons' family home in Hertforshire is a far cry from the humble abode her EastEnders character Roxy Mitchell lived in on Albert Square.

Luckily for us, the 43-year-old is giving OK! VIP club members an exclusive look inside the house, which includes many incredible features including a plush bedroom and incredible home gym.

Are you part of The OK! VIP Club? If not, why not? It’s free and gives you backstage access to stories like this, exclusive home tours, special discounts and so much more! In stunning photos, only for OK! VIP club members' eyes, Rita shows off her stylish home, complete with a cosy living room and impressively large master bedroom.

Rita has lived in the house for the past 11 years. She previously shared her property with her husband of 14 years Theo Silverston, but he moved out just before the initial lockdown in 2020.

She told OK! the timing of his departure "was quite honestly was a stroke of luck or we might have killed each other!"

Now her boyfriend Ben Harlow has temporarily moved in to the four-bedroom home, and her twin daughters Maiya and Jaimee, both 15, spend half their time there, too.

The living room looks incredibly cosy with a grey colour pallet tying the whole room together.

The celebrity favourite – crushed velvet – gets a spot in Rita's home in the form of a beige sofa.

Filling up the rest of the room is an eclectic mixture of decorative items including a green Buddha, a trunk that's been used as a small table and a cushion, with traditional British phone boxes printed on it.

Her unique style is shown throughout this room, especially on the extremely long framed lamp.

The kitchen has pops of purple throughout, giving it a girly touch. The pop-art style Marmite print in turquoise and purple is definitely a love it or hate it piece of artwork, but we love it!

While she's stuck to grey for the dining table chairs, the cupboards are glossy white. It's the perfect place to host a dinner party thanks to the double oven and atmospheric spotlight lighting, once the lockdown lifts of course.

The closure of gyms wasn't too much of a problem for Rita who has her own treadmill in her home.

There is also a sign saying, "Eat, sleep, train, repeat" to remind her to workout. However, she's swapped her gymwear and protein shake for a dress and skyscraper heels for a fun photo.

Rita's new boyfriend Ben, who she met when he played her love interest in Legally Blonde, has temporarily moved into her home. However, she has kept the bedroom to her style with pink cushions and a Marilyn Monroe canvas that reads, "Being normal is boring."

Rita said, "The weird thing is we’re trying to take it slowly but he’s living here. As soon as lockdown is lifted Ben will go back to his place."

Rita described her on-screen sister Samantha Womack as her "rock" during her divorce, but she's not the only one she keeps in touch with.

She told OK!: "I speak to Steve McFadden, Scott Maslen, Di Parish, Jamie Borthwick, pretty much all the Mitchells. And I speak to Larry [Lamb] all the time – I love that man!"

She continued, "I went to see Barbara [Windsor] last year, before lockdown in March. I popped into her house in Mayfair and she wasn’t well and it was quite shocking. She had about five seconds of lucid conversation at a time and kept asking Scott [Mitchell, her husband] if they were going home soon. It was so sad but I’m happy I saw her that one last time. I dream about her a lot."
