In two weeks alone, Just Eat says it has saved Britain’s healthcare heroes more than £1.5million on meals.

The discount was introduced as a thank you to the 1.3 million dedicated workers during the coronavirus epidemic.

Due to the huge demand and to show continued support for the NHS, Just Eat says it has now extended the discount for a further two weeks.

The discount was due to finish on April 13, but it will now run until April 27.

How to get 25% off Just Eat if you're an NHS worker

FOLLOWS these steps to get the discount.

  • Go to just-eat.co.uk/NHS and enter your NHS email address. You'll be sent a verification email to this address to make sure it’s an active NHS account.
  • Once the account has been verified, the discount code will appear on your screen.
  • Log on to Just Eat and put the discount code in the checkout.

Each discount code will be valid until midnight on the day it was redeemed, and you can generate one code every day until the offer expires.

Your NHS email address doesn't need to be the account you use to log into Just Eat, so you can use your usual log-in details.

Just Eat says hundreds of thousands of NHS and Northern Ireland’s HSC staff have used their discount to order meals to their place of work or for their families.

Meals have ranged from large group orders enough to feed a whole team of healthcare workers, to individual dishes at the end of a long shift.

Just Eat has more than 35,000 restaurant partners across the UK.

All restaurants are covered by the discount, but the money off doesn't include delivery fees.

There is no minimum spend for using Just Eat.

To get the discount, staff just need to visit the Just Eat website to register their NHS or HSC email address.

They then get a verification email to ensure it’s an active NHS account.

Once verified, they get a discount which can be used online.

Andrew Kenny, UK managing director, Just Eat, said: “We are proud to be making a small difference to the individuals and families of those working for our fantastic NHS.

“Over the last few weeks we’ve heard from many of our customers and hardworking restaurant partners, who want to join in the efforts of supporting those doing an heroic job right now.

"We’re working on an initiative that will enable them to do just that.”

In addition to extending the discount, the food delivery app will be introducing a longer term initiative to support more people on the health frontline.

It will reveal more details in due course.
