Lewis Capaldi's new album might only be about memes and it's because of lockdown
Lewis Capaldi has been feeling a little uninspired due to the coronavirus lockdown and joked his new album might only be about memes.
The Someone You Loved singer lives with his parents and revealed his mother has recently discovered memes and we’re about to be in for a wild ride.
During an Instagram Live, he said: ‘I’m trying my best but if I’m honest there’s nothing less inspiring than living at home with your parents during a lockdown when your dad is watching the news and then my mother, she’s recently discovered memes.
‘And let me tell you, it has been the bane of my existence for the last few weeks. All she does is shove her phone in my face with memes.
‘Even when I think I’m safe in my room she’ll send me pictures.’
If all he sees and breathes is memes, then the album is going to be a hilarious hit.
He added: ‘So that’s not a very inspiring environment to create in. I’ve been trying to write but it’s been going awful because I keep getting interrupted with memes.
‘So expect a meme-based album if I haven’t been killed by my mother.’
Lewis released his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent in 2019, resulting in endless awards.
In March 2019, his single Someone You Loved topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
It was nominated at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and won the 2020 Brit Award for Song of the Year. Capaldi also won the 2020 Brit Award for Best New Artist.
The star also won a BBC Award and a Global Award.
If he won so many awards from his new album, we bet a meme album would win over the entire world.
