Man Utd 'demand West Ham pay £80m for Harry Maguire double transfer… but ex-captain will cost LESS than team-mate' | The Sun
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly demanding £80million from West Ham for the double transfer of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay.
However, the majority of that chunk is for the Scottish midfielder, 26, rather than the former Red Devils captain.
SuNSport reported how the Hammers had tabled a £60m DOUBLE BID for Maguire and McTominay yesterday.
David Moyes’ side have finally sprung into life in this summer's transfer market, first agreeing a £35m deal for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, who is expected to have his medical in London in the next 24 hours.
And the East Londoners are now looking to pull off an audacious attempt to land both defender Maguire and McTominay.
Moyes is a big admirer of the pair, having made the England centre-back one of his top priorities.

Maguire, who arrived in Manchester from Leicester for £80m in 2019, is out of favour at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag having recently been stripped of the captaincy and made just eight Premier League starts last season.
And West Ham have also been in talks with United over McTominay for several weeks.
The Scotland star McTominay has fallen down the pecking order at United following Mason Mount’s switch from Chelsea and Casemiro’s prominence in Ten Hag’s plans.
Now they are hoping to land a double swoop should an agreement be reached.

However, The Times are claiming that their offer “is short of United’s valuation of the players”.
They claim that last season’s Carabao Cup winners are demanding between £40m-£45m for McTominay and they want around £35m for Maguire.
West Ham had an initial £20m approach rejected this summer, SunSport understands the club improved on that bid and have been in talks over wages, which could prove a stumbling block.
An agreement is needed that works for all parties, including the Red Devils, following Maguire’s recent salary increase after their Champions League qualification.
He now pockets around £200,000-a-week, a figure that is far more than any other West Ham player.
Ten Hag is happy for both Maguire and McTominay to stay and fight for their places and will not force either man out.
But this fresh update says that he will allow both to go “for a sizeable fee”.
McTominay has impressed so far in pre-season and captained United against Borussia Dortmund recently.

Meanwhile Maguire is still thought to be regarded as an important squad player, although he is now effectively fourth-choice centre back behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof.
Now it remains to be seen whether West Ham return with an improve offer for the duo before their Premier League opener away at Bournemouth.
