Pat McGrath £30 Divine Blush used on Bridgerton season two cast
If you can hardly wait for Bridgerton season two to launch on Netflix on 25 March, we might just have a little Regency-themed fix to keep your interest piqued until then.
Pat McGrath, aka queen of makeup and founder of Pat McGrath Labs, has just announced the news of her second Bridgerton beauty collection, set to launch on 23 March. To find out more, we jumped on a call with Pat herself to find out some of the makeup secrets from backstage at Bridgerton – including all the intel on a newly-launched blush that apparently took the set by storm.
The Divine Blush, £30 here in nine shades, is now available to buy, but when season two was being filmed, Pat had to smuggle over lab samples so that the cast could wear it for their scenes.
“I had to sneak over the Divine Blush samples,” Pat said to Bridgerton’s head makeup artist Erika Okvist, who also joined the call. “You got the ones from the labs with no packaging. You were the first to receive them for your beautiful cast. They’re perfect for Regency beauty, so you just had to have them!”
“It was so secret and incognito,” Erika agreed. “They were the most beautiful colour of blushes, and we very quickly found out they worked with a layering technique. You could use them for a subtle or a strong shade.”
Pat also excitedly told us that Pat McGrath Labs makeup was worn by every single actor and actress on set, which means when you’re watching at home later this month wondering how to copy some of the makeup looks, you know they were all created with the help of shoppable products from her collection.
“The Sublime Perfection Foundation [£61 here], everybody wore it – over 140 cast members!” Pat said proudly.
If all of this BTS intel isn’t enough to see you through to 25 March, we were also treated to a surprise cameo on the call from Lady Whistledown herself, actressNicola Coughlan, who Pat introduced as the new muse for this new Bridgerton collection. We’ve also been assured that some of Nicola’s looks will be next level gorgeous in the upcoming season.
