Piers Morgan blasts Arsenal's Ozil on GMB and says it's 'long journey from being world champ to playing on Playstation'

PIERS MORGAN continued his war of words with Mesut Ozil with yet another furious rant on Good Morning Britain.

This time the TV host slammed Ozil's lack of game time, claiming the closest he'll get to kicking a football is on the PlayStation.

The £350,000-a-week World Cup winner hasn't featured since March 7 after he was omitted from the club's Premier League and Europa League squads.

Morgan used his platform on the ITV breakfast show to slam the 'lazy' star further escalating their row that started on Twitter.

He said: "I want to say good morning to Mesut Ozil who has been trolling me overnight.

"I mentioned how he was overpaid, underworked and underperforming. I made this point on Twitter.

"Back came Mesut of course, because he has nothing else to do – he's not playing.

"It's been a hell of a long journey from being world champion to playing on you PlayStation and trolling Arsenal fans on Twitter.

"You can't even get into the Arsenal squad and you're gobbing off on Twitter with me. At least I'm at work, at least I'm putting a shift in.

"The last time you won a game for Arsenal was about 1912.

"We're paying you £350,000-a-week and a lot of people are losing their jobs."

Co-host Susanna Reid then responded: "It's not down to him is it?"

Morgan quipped back: "Yes it is down to him… why is he not in the squad? Because he's lazy."

The latest feud was sparked after Ozil posted a picture of himself in front of thousands of fans at the Emirates.

He added the caption: "The feeling of having fans behind you… #grateful #bestfans #hardtimes."

Morgan, who is vocal in his support for Arsenal, responded: "Real Arsenal fans aren't behind you.

"You're our Paul Pogba – massively overpaid, massively under-performing & shockingly overinflated sense of your own importance. #truth."

Ozil then said: "Piers, buddy, are you still bitter from the other day? It seems like you're not a big fan of World Champions.

"I wish you would see as good as you hear things."

It comes just a day after Morgan blasted Arsenal's defeat against fierce rivals Tottenham on GMB.

Ozil may finally end his Arsenal nightmare in January with a switch to Fenerbahce.

Club congress member from the Turkish side Murat Zorlu claims Ozil is '90 per cent' certain to make the switch in the New Year.

He told Sport Digitale: "A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.

"I would say 90 per cent he will join us in one month.”
