Pret fans can now buy its coffee beans from Amazon

PRET A Manger coffee is now available to buy on Amazon – the first time the chain has sold its products for consumers to use at home.

The range of three coffees will go on sale on Monday May 18, although you can pre-order online already.

There are two ground coffees and one whole bean version, and the coffee is 100 per cent organic arabica beans.

You can choose from 500g of classic blend ground coffee or Pret’s organic single-origin Peruvian ground coffee, both of which cost £9.50 and have free delivery.

Or you can buy 1kg of Pret’s organic espresso beans for £16.99 with free delivery.

Shoppers will be able to buy the coffee on Amazon and in Pret stores.

The move marks the beginning of a wider retail strategy planned by Pret, with other products under development for sale in the future.

Other coffee chains, such as Starbucks and Costa, already sell their coffee in supermarkets in the UK, as well as in their cafes.

Clare Clough, UK managing director for Pret, said: “We are extremely proud of our organic coffee, which is carefully sourced from some of the finest coffee growing regions in the world.

“We also know how much customers are missing it from their daily lives at the moment, so we’re delighted to be launching our first retail range with Amazon.”

More than 100 Pret shops have reopened across London and other cities after the company implemented a range of social distancing measures.

The shops are only open for takeaway and delivery.

Pret has also been selling boxes full of essentials from its shops.

And it is giving NHS workers free hot drinks and 50 per cent off everything else.

Meanwhile, Costa has also begun reopening some stores.
