A landlady has gone viral after sparking outrage on Twitter by demanding her tenant requests permission before using the bathroom or having visitors.

The Spareroom.co.uk listing by the unnamed homeowner from Glasgow offers just one bedroom in the shared flat for £700 per calendar month, and is only available on weekdays – unless you want to pay extra.

Additionally the tenant must arrange times to use the shower, and is expected to request permission before having visitors.

Poking fun at the listing, Sanne tweeted: ‘Pay this live-in landlord a cool £700pcm for a room from Mon – Fri only.

‘Shower times TBA in advance. Visitors TBA in advance. In the ~up and coming~ G42 area! You only have to do 30% of the cleaning! Weekends negotiable at extra cost, but only sometimes ok?’.

The original listing reads: ‘I work from home, and am looking for a non-smoking, non-vaping individual to rent my spare room. This is ideal for an NHS worker at the New Victoria Hospital located opposite and for anyone who is not WFH.’

The listing for room in the flat at this converted church (Pictured) reads: ‘You will have use of my shower during agreed times and your own downstairs bathroom and we will share the cleaning on a rolling weekly basis (though I will do 70 per cent given I am here full time)’.

It continues: ‘You will have use of my shower during agreed times and your own downstairs bathroom and we will share the cleaning on a rolling weekly basis (though I will do 70 per cent given I am here full time)’.

It adds: ‘No pets allowed. You can have guests if agreed in advance’.

Slamming the advert, one Twitter user wrote: This sounds like a living nightmare. Like seriously dystopian and horrible’.

Another wrote: ‘Cool bars really sold it for me. Ones I can’t enjoy on weekends though.’

Elsewhere one tweeted: ‘Looks like you do not get to use the living room. £750 a month for a bedroom and ensuite bathroom which you have to allow the landlady use of (presumably accessed via your room?), but you can use her shower so that’s a bonus.’

Commenting on the price, another added: ‘For £700 pcm you could rent a one bedroom flat all to yourself in up and coming G42′!’

Slamming the fact the price was only for weekdays, another wrote: ‘It’s very long way of just saying “I am a f****ng awful human, and I want you cover my mortgage and bills”.

The advert has since been updated and no longer lists asking for permission to use the bathroom or have guests as a prerequisite.
