Yes you read that right, the shower curtains are painted with 3D outdoor designs and instead of resigning them to your bathroom they make the perfect backdrop in your garden.

The shower curtains are advertised on site Wish for £10, as well as several more designs on Amazon starting at similar prices.

Due to the intricate detail when hung up outside, depending on your chosen design it can make you feel like you're in a Spanish courtyard, or in the South of France, or even at a gorgeous waterfall.

The trend was kickstarted on Facebook group Gardening on a Budget when one woman shared the impressive optical illusion that made her back garden look like a scene out of Spanish holiday.

And with travel restrictions firmly in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, for some the only option is to inject a some kind of tropical vibes into the home that they'll be spending so much time in.

One woman shared her own mini garden makeover on the page: "My little lockdown project. Jumped on the shower curtain bandwagon and I absolutely love it.

"Thank you all for your tips and ideas. Amazing what you can do with a bit of wasted space when you put your mind to it."

Not only had she hung up a shower curtain that looked like a picture perfect street scene from Italy, she had added decking and stylish iron chairs and flowers to match the 3D scene.

Another woman shared her transformation with, adding a curtain that featured a balcony with a seaview, as well as a wooden sun lounger to really get her mind fully in the location.

"It's up! Looks much more welcoming than a brown fence panel! I will add handing artificial Ivy across the Top to hide the rings and have it blend in more. Creases will eventually go.. I'm very happy with it. Whoever suggested this Thank-You," she wrote.

The illusion trick has definitely taken off as more people jumped on the bandwagon and showed off their creative design skills.

Instead of spending hundreds of pounds on a water feature one gardener added a design of a waterfall.

"So I decided to join the Shower Curtain gang and have been waiting all week for a non-rainy day to put it up. I had a very boring, dark corner outside my back door. Some new lights, a re-purposed pot which is now a fairy garden, some moving around of plants, and I am quietly pleased with it. I can now work at the kitchen table and look out on a waterfall!"
