Tiger King star John Finlay is unrecognisable as he shows off brand new set of teeth

All eyes have been on Netflix’s new crime docuseries Tiger King, following its premiere on the streaming service.

The gritty series traces the steps of a man named Joe Exotic, a breeder of big cats and owner of an Oklahoma-based petting zoo.

And whilst we’ll hold off revealing the plot's many twists and turns in case you haven’t watched it, what we will reveal is that Joe’s ex-husband John Finlay, who we meet in the show, has got a brand new set of teeth!

John, who married Joe Exotic in the series and is a big part of the show, got his brand new teeth back in July of 2019 but claimed Netflix decided not to include them in the limited series.

The star of the hit documentary wrote on his new Facebook page ‘The Truth About John Finlay’: “Yes I have my teeth fixed. The producers of the Netflix series had a video and pictures of this, but chose not to show it.”

He continued: “It’s all about the ratings for them, not the people they hurt.”

John has shared a range of pictures of his new set of teeth on his new Facebook page while also revealing some of the things he believes Netflix got wrong in the docuseries.

As well as John, the show’s other big names, Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic, who has recently been hospitalised after contracting coronavirus, have taken issue with their depictions.

Carole, writing on her Big Cat Rescue blog, said the claims she killed her husband were “the most ludicrous of all the lies,” and carried on to say that there aren’t words for “how disappointing the series is.”

In the series it’s hinted that John lost his teeth as a result of meth abuse, but he has since clarified to TMZ that this is not the case, and the loss of his teeth were instead the result of genetic issues.

John has admitted to doing meth in the past but has been clean for six years. He currently lives in central Oklahoma with his fiancée Stormey and works as a welder.

Co-directors of the docuseries, Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, began filming Tiger King after Goode listed an animal dealer in South Florida and found a snow leopard in the back of the scalding hot van.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Goode said: “That set us on this journey to really understand what was going on with the private ownership of big cats in this country."

Continuing: “The tiger people, the reptile people, they all have sort of unique subcultures. Kind of like 'Best in Show.’

“What we started understanding in the big cat world is (the owners) have a unique commonality between them, which is, ‘Look at me’… (they want) the status of having a tiger and the attention that gets them.”

The series is currently available to watch on Netflix.
