Ugg boots are back so here are bargains so you can get the look for less
UGG boots are back – for better or worse.
A must-have in the Noughties, their popularity is rising again, with retailer Schuh reporting sales are up by 30 per cent.
I’m not surprised. They combine indoor slippers with outdoor shoes, so are great for a dash to the shops in PJs.
But they aren’t cheap. So here is how to nab the look for less . . .
CLASSIC BOOT: A great all-rounder for keeping toes cosy indoors and nipping out, the classic Ugg boot is quite pricey at £165 for a short pair. There are many fakes out there, so if you want to recreate a similar look for less, keeping quality in mind, check out mandmdirect.com, where Ugg classic women’s Abree mini boots are £89.99, down from £173.99 — and you can split the cost over four interest-free payments if you want.
SAVING: £75.01
SLIPPERS: The ultimate cosy slipper, Fluff Yeah Ugg slider slippers don’t come cheap at £100. Try the Boo fluffy stripe slippers from ego.co.uk. They are currently on sale for just £9.99, down from £29.99, and are near-identical to look at.
SAVING: £90.01
MEN: Guys can wear Uggs, too. For an understated pair, check the outlet section of ugg.com/uk. A short, black pair is on offer for £102.99, down from £155. New customers can get ten per cent off and split the cost with Klarna at ugg.com/uk. You can also get up to 3.75 per cent back via topcashback.co.uk.
SAVING: at least £52.01
BRAND SWAP: Beware of fake Uggs. You don’t want to fork out for a cheap, badly made product. But if you don’t mind about branding and still want a good-quality sheepskin boot, it pays to shop around lesser-known brands.
For example, secretsales.com is currently stocking pairs of Aus Wooli “Bondi” Australia short sheepskin ankle boots for just £39, down from £132 — far cheaper than the Ugg equivalent of £165.
