You can made a 3D crochet version of Tiger King's Joe Exotic
If you haven’t heard of Netflix’s Tiger King documentary, where have you been?!
The seven-part docu-series has been all over social media the past week and now there’s even a way you can immortalise Joe Exotic… in crochet form.
Crochet company Crafty Is Cool has come up with a pattern that allows you to create a miniature version of the big cat collector, as well as a tiger cub.
Designed by Allison Hoffman, it covers every detail – from Joe’s jazzy shirts and multi-tonal mullet, to his dangling eyebrow ring.
The finished crocheted version of Joe Exotic stands at 12.5 inches tall, whereas the tiger cub sits at just 3.25 inches.
According to its Etsy page, the detailed pattern is 21 pages long – including 57 photos – and can be completed by those of all crocheting abilities.
The page reads: ‘It has lots of details so beginners might like the challenge, intermediates might breeze through, and advanced crocheters will laugh at its simplicity.’
But it does stress that, ‘basic techniques like crocheting in the round, construction, increasing and decreasing, and basic embroidery are needed.’
Currently the PDF pattern is being sold for just £7.07 – once purchased, customers will be able to download it.
But it’s worth pointing out that it’s only the pattern which is available to buy from Crafty Is Cool – all the other materials required to make the 3D version of Joe Exotic will need to be purchased alongside this.
If the reviews are anything to go by, those looking to get their hands on the pattern will not be left disappointed.
One happy customer posted: ‘Found my quarantine project. I’m excited to make this and impressed with all the information in the PDF.’
While another said: ‘This was so much fun to make. As always Allison’s patterns are easy to follow!!!’
